When I started sharing I was honest with my shift pattern and asked outright if it would be a problem. They were happy that some of my days I could only do once a day and as long as everything was all done then they were happy with that.
I would just be honest about it from the start and then...
OH non-horsey. He likes collecting and music so spends a lot of time and money on that. I would never tell him to stop doing it and vice versa. He can play guitar and video games to his hearts content. He only complains about the smell and mess. (Very clean and a bit ocd)
Sometimes I would...
I went from share to full loan. Was a different pony and full loan wasn't expected, but the 10 year old in me jumped at the chance to have a pony all of my 'own' and haven't looked back since! Slightly different circumstances as he is an old pony and won't ever have to give him back so feels...
Earlys: up at 5, yard by 6, turn out, muck out poos only, do haynet and water. Leave at 6:30 to get to work for 6:50. Finish at 2:30 and either finish what I didn't in the morning (if I pressed snooze too much!) ride in the school for 20 mins and feed and bed about 4pm
Lates: up at 7, yard by...
I've only been loaning for a year, yet I can't remember what I used to do?! I don't think I did anything. I used to lie in late and go to work, or work a morning and nap in the afternoon and watch a lot of TV. Didn't really go out much. Although would spend more time on my personal appearance...
Mine is really unhorsey. He likes Shetlands and that's it just because they are small. he isnt keen on my loan pony as he is too big...all 12.3 hands of him...haha
(He is 6 foot 2 by the way!)
All my falls have happened so quick and I'm on the floor before I realise due to the little pony I ride. However the only time I do have to think is to not let go because I'll never get him back! Which by the sounds of it is a good thought to have to avoid putting my arms out to save myself
I've started to try deep littering to see if having a solid base and deeper bed helps. While leaving the wet is very difficult for me, the time im saving and the reduction in waste is keeping me going! only on day 3 so will see how it goes!
I'm about to spend £5 on coloured jeggings from sports direct...including leopard print....although by the time I ride I'm covered in stains and splashes anyway!
I hate nights but in a way makes it easier as when on late shifts I have to ask others to bring in for me. In winter I go straight to the yard and muck out and get everything ready for the evening. Sleep, get to yard for about 4:4:30 and I can do a quick check and bring in and get a little nap...
