Have you looked at openLearn / futureLearn content? To my mind , it doesn't need to be useful, just interesting. The openLearn / futureLearn content has come from ou or other universities courses but is free (or you pay if you want final certificate(s)).
Sorry, I know nothing about nails so you...
I'm another who has been invested in this story from the beginning. I used to read about Ted's antics while working late nights but I hadn't put it together that was 15+ years ago.
I have a ginger mare who is IN SEASON!!! and doesn't mind who knows about it. I keep telling her she's too old...
I was thinking today that I hadn't seen your name recently. I don't normally wander into this bit of the forum unless I'm having a vet conundrum but today I wandered, saw your post and wanted to say how sorry I was to read your news. Lari was very lucky to have been owned by you, and it sounds...
Thank you again. It's been really interesting reading different people's views and perspectives. Any doggy thoughts are likely to be somewhat in the future as much of my time currently is taken up with horse and combining them would be tricky in current livery set up, but I think it's never too...
Really interesting, lots of food for thought. Thank you all for sharing your experiences. OH grew up in Canada and I get the impression that the breeder of his dog was researching her breeding lines to really improve the temperament. I hadn't thought of them being particularly nervy - if we do...
Hello,
As title, can anyone tell me anything about airedales and what they're like to live with in the home?
OH and I are talking about getting a dog in the future (still distant future). I have had smaller rescue crossbred terriers and an Irish setter in the past, and in the dim distant past...
Another vote for bareback boots, I've not looked after mine at all and they've lasted about 5years and still going strong. For longer boots I really like cabotswood boots - expensive (for me) at full price but they have excellent sales. The only problem I find with them is that I destroy the...
Years ago I trained a horse and to yield to poll pressure in a similar manner to Smolmaus mentioned above except that I used the lead rope. Essentially I had the horse with headcollar and lead rope attached, then draped the lead rope up over the head and added pressure, releasing and treating...
I'm on full livery and normally go up 5days a week and easily spend 2-3 hours each evening with J. I'm there on my own so have a nice leisurely groom and chat with J, I'm not currently riding so we'll then go for a hand walk in the dark or play in the arena, then back onto the yard to finish up...
When I first got J she was a grump in the stable, so I rewarded any slight positive interactions with me and as much as possible in the early days I would take her outside with haynet for grooming/ tacking up etc so that these things didn't intrude on her space or mean the automatic removal of...
I did find that J, who can be spooky in daylight, is actually very good at night. It's almost like she mentally just "gets on with it" whereas in daytime there are things to gawp at. The only time she's spooked in the dark was when we got ambushed by a herd of deer which was rather...
For an alternative pov, when I had my horse vetted it was stopped at stage 2. She essentially failed stage 2, lame left fore when lunged on hard ground so the vet saw no point in proceeding. I drove away, bawled my eyes out, called the owner later on and bought the horse regardless. That was...
I suspect it's this one. I bought a version of this from decathlon around 7years ago and it's been fabulous. I use it after being caught in rain or after washing off and find it easier and lighter to use than my thermatex.
It's also easier to pop in my washing machine afterwards than the thermatex.
