I can see why the vets have to do this and also see that they would have to require that everybody pays up front, otherwise the well-known non/late payers would claim discrimination. Still a sad reflection though.
Really disgusting. Why can these men not stop for a minute and consider how they would feel if a gang of men dug their terrier out of a hole, after chasing it for a couple of hours, then threw it to the hounds?
I know this will be hard as you obviously feel you have a bond with this horse, but taking it on would be madness. You could end up paying out a high amount for vet fees etc., which you would be unlikely to get insurance cover for, plus the regular costs for livery and feed, shoes etc etc, so...
