what are peoples opinions on wheatfeed or thirds for building up.
My new boy is 16hh meduim weight hunter build. I wouldn't say he was badly under weight at all but he needs some building up. He's taken on a lot coming to me as he wasn't used to being stabled and it was his first time moving to...
vet visited yesterday it was very good news he been confirmed sound. he's just abit stiff which the vet reckons will loosen up as he begins to be worked. My vet said that I might aswell just crack on with as its somthing he's always going to have. luckily he only has it mild in one stifle and...
Hi yeh he had it done he's fine its just a sloe recovery it wasn't as bad as first thought he only had it in one of his stifles very mild. he wa son box rest for 7 weeks then in a small paddock for 2-3 weeks. he went in with his pals yesterday. but he's abit sore today so i'm going to rest until...
my 3 year old had surgery for ocd 3 months ago. he had 1 extremely mild lesion in his right stifle, his other was clean which was very good news. He was on stall rest for 7 weeks then in a small paddock for a week and a half, then in a larger field for a week by himself. He's now back in with...
I no this is what I'm worried about the most I think his mental well being because he's such a lovely character. Its such a shame. Yes this is what my vet said too that if its one its likely to be in the other. Fingers crossed not.
My friends horse did three months, but her vet said she...
I am taking my boy for OCD surgery tomorrow and feeling very chewed as expected. He's fab but he's only three years of age. So still very quirky as you can imagine. He's genuinely quite good with his legs being handled etc but gets himself very worried in new situations. He's a big 3 year old...
Hi i don't at the moment nooooo. do you have yours though? I'm still waiting for second vet to get back in touch I've got 2 separate opinions on them. I'm going to ring tomorrow so may no more then!
I no everyones gave me quite positive feedback about it. I think he should be ok there was only a tiny tiny area of worry in his xrays.
Just waiting for sec opinion then go forward from there. he's not lame really just crosses under with one of his back legs. soooo fingers crossed he'll feel...
yeh its the rest period I'm not looking forward too at all! its going to be a nightmare with his age even though he's been quite good considering. He's now turned back out in a small paddock whilst wait for second opinion on xrays to come back. He's not severely lame but i can see what you mean...
Hi i had x rays done and they came out prop this time! had a good look and whatever it is its only small. so fingers crossed its a small lesion and this is all. His Xrays have been sent off to another vet for a second opinion and will be hearing from them this week hopefully
Hiya my last horse (owned for 7 years) had them when he was a young man, well about 4 or 5. I was told to leave well alone. which i did and he just grew out of them. My friend has a 17.3hh colored gelding he had one on his tummy and she went into having it treated which only made it 10 times...
So My young man has had issues with his stifle for a couple of months now. The horrid symptoms of a very partially swollen knee joint (stifle) and stiffness, which has now, after doing a houdini from his field 4 days ago developed into a slight lameness.
He's down in himself and very quiet...
No he's so poorly, were back to square one now. I've changed vets as the vet I'm now using is more of a expert in his sort of area, he's just more black and white when giving you the truth. We did xrays today but unfortunately the cold seemed to have a negative effect on the xray machine and the...
thankyou. He was well on the way to recovery and completely sound. So it gave me hope, and still has that its fixable and he can be completely back to normal. However my friends new youngster arrived two days ago and the plan way to have them both in a separate field from the others for 2 weeks...
