How to manage a very sweaty hot cob?

My D is a hottie too, I have him clipped out down to his knees rather than armpits (I call it the welly clip) to save his feathers.

Feeling demotivated! Is it time to give up?

Right - I had an emergency lesson this morning, spoke about what I feel and she agrees that his straightness and not listening to my left leg (really weak due to a previous break) are the issues at the forefront. She has given me a few exercises to work and told me to crack down on him (I am...

Thank you all so much. I will look into finding a ridden instructor too (any Worcestershire recommendations?)

Feeling demotivated! Is it time to give up?

Thank you so much for responding. I will stick to walk to canter with outside bend for now and do lots ot straightness work.

Feeling demotivated! Is it time to give up?

Also, I can get the right lead if I take a huge amount of outside bend which is hideous (to look at and ride).

Feeling demotivated! Is it time to give up?

Thank you, I will try that. He feels like he is trying to bump me up the fence on the right rein which I'm sure doesn't help.

Feeling demotivated! Is it time to give up?

Feeling #dramatic this morning!! Does anyone have a horse that just wont canter on the right leg? I have at least 2 lessons a week and he has had all of the usual checks done recently (other than saddle which will be done soon) and we just aren't progressing. His walk and trot is pretty...

Does this sound fair to you?

In Worcester also, I pay £75 per week + trailer parking for 5 day livery incl' hay & straw. Ok yard with average facilities.

    bits... the ongoing saga!!

Cheers guys! Will stick with the loosey for now & focus on getting really quality/ relaxed trot work. I have over cooked him a bit I think and made the canter a bit panicky. I like the tip of doing tiny canters :) thank you

    bits... the ongoing saga!!

Hi Guys, Looking for a bit of inspiration please :) loose ring - soft in the mouth, but a big tooo gung ho in canter (I am not a strong enough rider to hold him up together). drop cheek - blocky and unpleasant wilkie - tucks behind and generally feels a bit worried pelham - goes like...

What colour shirt/tie/jodhs with a fairly jazzy tweed?

Hi All, I have ordered the Sherwood Forest Campolino (fairly light green with a pink/purple over check). What sort of colours would you put with this? I also have both brown & black boots so which of those to wear? Black pony, brown or black tack, navy hat. V x

    Gallops Hire (Droitwich/ Bromsgrove)

Hi Guys, The lack of off road riding is starting to get me and the fat pony down! I have thought of hiring gallops on a fortnightly basis but can't find any close enough to make it viable. Does anybody know of any available locally? Vx
