    itchy dog

Those of you with who have had itchy animals and had successfully treated what was the cause for yours? We have a dog that is continually itching himself. He doesn’t have fleas (vet confirmed) and need him now checked out whether has an allergy to some foods / dust mites

Yard with better turnout or facilities?

Yard 2, most yards have horses in at night during winter and if I was a horse I'd prefer it too thinking back to the last few winters we've had! ;)

    machine washing a fly mask

sorry if this has been asked before but has anyone machine washed a fly mask and did it survive? Mine is disgusting, I tried to hand wash it but it didn't work and still stinks and is filthy. it's the only one that fits her head so don't want it to get ruined in there!

Fat cob... to muzzle or clip?

I'd be concerned about the muzzle rubbing and causing sores if left on so long. you might need to pad out with something soft around the top of it as once sore has developed then a right bugger to get rid of without moving the muzzle completely also make sure he knows how to drink with it...

Mud fever scab removal on a difficult horse

I use sudocrem. was told by vet never ever to pick scabs off. if they don't come away on their own then they are not ready to come off and doing so will introduce infection if you've ever tried picking a scab off yourself that is still attached you know how much that hurts! :(

sarcoids between bum cheeks, how to treat?

I think there's about 5. I'm sure they don't have bandable necks but will check again tonight. did you have to keep yours on box rest until they dropped off and area healed? would imagine turning out so they rubbed wouldn't be a good idea! otherwise suppose it's the usual debulking...

sarcoids between bum cheeks, how to treat?

sorry for another sarcoid question but has anyone's horse developed sarcoids up between their bum cheeks? If so, how did you treat them? Mines got quite a few and they are quite squishy due to the cheeks pressing them together but they do seem to be growing. any cream causing a reaction...

Large sarcoid and crest toothpaste, result!

I've used it in the past and for the tiny ones it did work and they dropped off and haven't come back but didn't work on the larger ones. but each horse is different the vet injects the big ones with liverpool cream and bands them if possible and they always drop off 2 weeks later. Applying...

    Worried sick about my horse.....

so glad things are looking up. :) Can i recommend Manuka Honey for wounds, one of the best natural things to put on as great antiseptic and healing qualities and in my opinion better than any medical thing you can buy. Long as you bandage then will stop the flies etc getting stuck in it ;)

Do you think this is a fair Livery Yard rule?

haven't had chance to read through an apologise if this has been said but perhaps he means for companies that come on to the yard to collect the rugs so he knows that they are reputable and not likely to case the joint so to speak?

    cushings and other serious ailments

mine was diagnosed very recently and just waiting for the prascend tablets to arrive. his reading is 129. One thing that concerns me if there's a growth in the brain then how do know they aren't getting severe headaches? i watch a lot of medical programmes and all the people who have brain...

    Vetroflex and Sarcoids

has vet tried injecting liverpool cream into the big sarcoids? (preferably banding them first) works brilliantly and drop completely off in 10 days applying cream to the outside of them didn't work on mine at all.
