I have a standing order running to the Vardon Trust to help with the excellent work she was doing. Can someone tell me if it is continuing or shall I stop contributing?

Does anyone have experience with ethanol for fusing hocks?

Thank you for your replies. Unbelievably my chap has now manage to injure the same leg but unrelated. He has ruptured the inside strap holding his tendons in place over the point of the hock so the tendon is now flicking from side to side! He is now on a six months field rest to see if scar...

Hock injury - Severed & flipped tendon

Well sadly I have joined 'the club'. My 15 year old has ruptured the inside strap so the tendon now flicks off and back again. I have been told surgery not usually successful and just to put him out as much as possible in the hope that scar tissue immobilises the tendon and he becomes rideable...

    Achilles Tendons

Oh heck....I think my chap has done that! Last Tuesday suddenly couldn't put his hind foot to the ground....got better so could walk but heat and swelling over and round the point of hock....argh! Just had seven months treatment on the same hock for arthritis!!! Suspect not related as...

Does anyone have experience with ethanol for fusing hocks?

My chap has had since July last year two steroid and two Tildren treatments. The vet is suggesting Alcohol injections to fuse the joints. Leanne and Joules how did it go? My chap is 15 and was working at Medium Dressage. I am reconciled to the fact he may not compete again but would like to...

    Welcome to HHO Towing Clinic

I am 67 and when I am 70 I need to renew my licence. I have heard that although my current licence covers trailer towing my new licence will not and although I have towed for very many years I will need to take a trailer test. Is that true and what is the cost implication of this please?

What towing vehicles would you recommend?

The above really. We have an Ifor Williams 510 and a 10 year old Discovery. I only tow one horse...about 550kg but I understand that despite this our replacement vehicle must be capable of towing the trailer plus two 17.2hh horses ie2700kg. If this is true what is the best towing vehicle for...

Gastric Ulcers - Coligone (also in vet)

Try Allen and Page Fast Fibre - worked a treat with my chap. Little and often (at least 4 feeds a day) - and plenty of grass/hay (ad lib)

    Best joint supplement?

I swear by Cortaflex - our 21 year old advanced eventer (now retired) was on it for years and never a days lameness - he is still totally sound! My 18 year old is also in full work and no joint problems although working at Advanced Medium (changes and half pass etc) - he is also on it. You can...
