If you decide to get a rug this year I wouldn’t spend too much. A 3/4 year old could need a bigger size by next year. (The more expensive the rug the more likely they are to grow!)
I would say doctor as soon as possible as well. Following that a physio visit might be useful, tight hamstrings and muscle imbalance etc. can affect knees. I have had knee problems previously, had an op, but physio recommended exercises really helped as well.
I would scope as where the ulcers are and how severe affects treatment. It’s also worth asking your vets if they do a ’scoping day.’ I used Hirds at Sheffield and it was much cheaper to take her on the dedicated day rather than a day where they were just scoping the one.
Rats!! Bought a Samshield earlier this year and looks like I won't be able to do BS in it after 2015. On the plus side it gives me an excuse to use it as my everyday hat, it's incredibly comfortable.
We used to use PCS Commercials who are based at Wem, Shropshire. Don't know how quickly they'd be able to come out but they did a good job on our old 7.5 ton. Haven't used them for a while because we switched to a van. The number is 01948 880576.
I have a 19 year old gelding still jumping 1.10m. He still loves his jumping so will keep going with him until he tells me he wants to stop. He's turned out as much as possible to manage a dust allergy but doesnt have any other issues yet.
Don't worry sounds like lots of things went really well and full marks for getting back on. My first show with my mare she refused to jump at all in the warm up arena and then cat leapt everything, it does get better!
Congrats. Somerford is a lovely course and it sounds like you had a great day. It's nice to hear some events are still running after all the recent cancellations.
