Changing out of a circle to the other rein and staying on the old bend for a few strides means the old inside hind still keeps its weight while being new outside hind and strike off into canter that way. Works pretty well.
Really interesting I had to watch Lottie Fry’s test and it looks appalling. Last summer I watched some medium dressage at a local venue (I am nowhere attempting anything like it myself but I currently try everything to bring my youngster on using her own self carriage eventually as a basic aim)...
Have opted for the Thorowgood. It looks smart new and given the current weather conditions I am quite glad 🙂 . It fits the pony like a glove, suited my budget it’s lightweight and for local competitions it’s going to be just fine.
I dont’t currently weigh hay but she is stabled probably about 18 hours this time of year and I don’t like them running out too long. I Have a very good doer but she only gets a balancer and very little chaff as feeds. I have started mixing two versions of hay. One type she practically inhales...

hacking gets easily overlooked or people don’t take it seriously. Well my 5 year old sees farm machinery, umbrellas, prams, barking dogs and deer on a regular basis and is getting quite resilient. Also sure footed. Can’t beat that.
