I'm a book snob too. Jilly's prose is pretty good, especially Riders. I was horrified by how poor Helen was raped though. Just unnecessary in an otherwise light hearted, fun book.
The only other one I've read is Polo. I didn't think it was as good and again unnecessarily rapey. I'm probably...
I was struggling to believe this so did a bit of googling. The local paper said the loaner had only had poor kit 3 months and implied the owner had inspected the yard she was kept at. What was wrong at yard A that loaner changed yards after 2months and 1 week?
I'd be very careful given you livery with this YO. Having an anonymous user name would be a start.
Some of the best riding instruction I've had has been from people whose qualifications were years of experience with horses and a gift for communication. I paid in beer rather than money, but...

I'm not surprised your five are crackers, they've not been interfered with growing up and have learnt how to be ponies and live in a herd before going to a sympathetic and experienced home. Most ponies in that situation will come good. What do you do with your five?
None the less horse...
Pages of comments and no one has pointed out they are not a species, they are a type. Species are horses & donkeys, not Dartmoors & Arabs.
Personally I wouldn't mind if the DHP did die out. They aren't true to a type and don't have any more genetic value than any other small pony.
Pure...
