If I offer Poppy a bit of fruit or veg, or have the nerve to put it in her food, she absolutely will not touch it. If I leave the exact same bit on the worktop where she can steal it, it becomes the tastiest and most precious of treats!

Me too! My lovely old cob had so much mane that it ended up being easiest to do two running plaits, one on either side of his neck. Seemed to work well for him, but we had no intention of ever going anywhere public!!

This. Mine is scared/reactive too. I don't have the luxury of living in splendid isolation, but try my hardest to walk in places with a low dog count. And even then we can't always avoid the oblivious idiots.

The fact that I'm currently not allowed in the downstairs loo unaccompanied. There really isn't room for me and a german shepherd! If I do shut her out, she scrabbles, whinges and pesters at the door. Upstairs is absolutely fine, apparently.
