This. Mine is scared/reactive too. I don't have the luxury of living in splendid isolation, but try my hardest to walk in places with a low dog count. And even then we can't always avoid the oblivious idiots.
The fact that I'm currently not allowed in the downstairs loo unaccompanied. There really isn't room for me and a german shepherd! If I do shut her out, she scrabbles, whinges and pesters at the door.
Upstairs is absolutely fine, apparently.
I found that using paracetamol capsules rather than tablets made a big difference too...seems to hide the taste a lot better. Especially when served with Primula squeezy cheese.
Temporary insanity?
I loved all the GSDs I knew when growing up, so when I was finally in a position to get a dog of my own, they were my first choice. Off I wandered to the gsd rescue, to be matched with 'the ideal first dog'. What a learning curve she was! 18 month old gsd x rottie...
