I would be really interested to hear people's opinions/reactions to the following scenario because there have been times over the last 6 months when i have thought i was going insane, but have never asked what other people think.
I got my horse when she was a yearling and i was 16, i felt like...
My girl would have been 11 today if she was still here. I lost her 6 months ago to the day on November 21st last year. I miss her more with every passing day and find it hard to come to terms with the fact that i should have been so excited by now with only 4 weeks to go before foaling. Life can...
My thoughts are with you and strangely your post has just made me realise that today is also significant for me. My girl would have been 11 today but she died exactly 6 months ago on November 21st.
I can't believe i have lived 6 months like this, still with so many unanswered questions and...
I would like to but there is absolutely no way. At the minute i have a house in negative equity which needs to be sold but can't at the minute so im having to pay half the mortgage even though im not living there while paying my way somewhere else. It wouldn't have been so bad but my mum and dad...
No he's not mine, the agreement was that the lady who had her on loan would keep the first two and then we would reconsider (i was hoping to have her home once she'd had the two)
It was completely out of the blue, she foaled on my birthday last June - had a lovely colt - and was back in foal and doing really well and went from being fine to gone in the blink of an eye. Truly heartbreaking.
Glad to hear it all worked out at Hurstbourne, i still have such lovely memories...
Hi. Indeed its been a very long time since i've been on here. Sadly, in the meantime i lost my girl to a twisted gut just before Christmas. How are yours?
I was in quite a similar position with my mare, albeit she was a dressage horse rather than eventer. Again i echo what everyone has said about the prices for broodmares being pretty poor considering they are repsonsible for the next generation!
My only advice is to not consider a breeding loan...
Thank you for your post. Interestingly i was told that there is some sort of pattern in the changing weather (summer/autumn/winter) and the most severe colics being seen.
My girl's was catastrophic, one minute she was absolutely fine and the next was in complete distress. By the time she was...
I haven't posted on here for a while but for those of you that followed the story of my mare thought i should share the very sad news that she died before Christmas.
She was on a breeding loan and bred a gorgeous foal who was born in June. Sadly she was taken ill very suddenly on November 21st...
Following on from my post yesterday re still waiting for my little one, i can't quite believe this still myself but i'm not waiting anymore!!! My girl had a lovely bright bay colt overnight!
She doesn't live with me at the moment so i wasn't there but apparently there weren't any signs so she...
I will keep you up to date. I went to see her last weekend and she is huge and very docile! I asked for an update on Saturday and there was nothing to report. The stallion's other mares have all been late so i might have a few weeks to wait yet!
