    Sprehe stallion Diamond First

Can anyone in the know say what happened to Gestuet Sprehe stallion Diamond First? He’s still available frozen but not fresh. Was he gelded, sold? I’ve always loved him.

New hat time MIPS or not

I bought a Uvex ( not Mips) about 8 years ago but had awful trouble with the dial at the back loosening on its own all the time. In the end I just didn't feel safe in the hat and went back to a Charles Owen skull cap. I would like a new hat with Mips but everything now seems to have this dial...

    Horse Snatching Reins

Interesting thread as I have a gelding who does this but only in walk in the manage and out hacking. He has the Chiro regularly and like the OP I'm confident in my master saddler for saddle fit. However I found him worse in my Faifax bridle. I might try different bits and other bridles though to...

    Evil

I agree with OP. I just cannot understand why anyone would acquire horses then starve them to death yet it happens time and time again.

Less lameness with well bred horses

Good conformation is a start. I bought a nice inexpensive mare with good breeding form a stud. Her price was low because she had bench knees and not the best canter in the world although other than that she was well put together and nice looking. She passed a vetting but the reality is that she...

anybody else got fresh horses at the moment?

Yes oddly enough mine are. They live out and nothing has changed really. I've put it down to darker nights, slightly colder weather and more wind. Can't be grass as they are on a grass free track.

    Uveitis - cyclosporine implants

Yes I had gelding who got terrible uveitis in both eyes. Even Finadyne couldn't give him relief. He had cyclosporin implants put in both eyes. They worked great for two and a half years - hardly any attacks and if he did have one it was only mild. Then things started to deteriorate again. He...

Would you ask for a refund under these circumstances?

I would ask politely if there was any way the yard owner could refund the cost of feed and bedding or alternatively give it to you as you have paid for it. I wouldn't expect a refund on the wages as these are fixed and there is no saving to the yard owner with the stable empty. Nor would I...

How many different plants do your horses eat?

My pasture doesn’t have much variety so I feed a mix of dozens of dried herbs as I agree that horses should ideally browse on a mix of hedgerow plants.

Two Police horses attacked by dog and one horse injured

Bloody Hell. Well sat. He was lucky not to come off. That horse was a Saint. My mare would have kicked the shit out of that dog 😳

Labour costs for post and rail fence?

Just reread my own post and it’s 120m not 1200m 😩😩😩

Labour costs for post and rail fence?

I’ve been quoted £1,600 labour to erect approx 1,200m of post and rail fencing. I am providing all the posts, rails, gates etc. Does this sound about right? Anyone?

Dressage Trainer Cesar Parra Suspended by FEI for Horse Abuse

OMG that poor poor horse - and what owner would want their horse treating like that? All those people running with buckets of water - why didn’t they stop him before it got to that or at least try? If these are the people winning competitions then maybe we should stop competing horses.

Back with another weird horse thing…

My old mare always got hiccups when I got the lorry out. It was definitely nerves with her.

    Gawsworth Track Livery

I follow her on Facebook. She is always right. Always. I don’t know how she finds horses that are shod so badly but to suggest every shod horse looks like this is ridiculous. When I asked her how many of her barefoot liveries were ridden regularly or competed she didn’t reply she just referred...
