The sister to a gold cup winner is 2 generations back if you read the wording correctly, so a weak pedigree, especially considering the dam herself must be pretty old - so there are probably 5+ siblings to this which have done nothing. Plus its a filly - they would be only get this at a sale if...
Tend to geld at 5/6 months old, on the mare. I can't really understand why anyone would leave any colt for longer, unless they had a stallion's pedigree.
I've entered a foal for the first time and already regretting it!
How long is it gonna take to get her trotting her up in hand? How am I gonna persuade my husband to 'dress up'?
Looks like I will have to enter the colt to make the results stand for my stallion - now he will be fun!
Flying Legend. I sent a mare to him this year (her first foal is machine by Sir Harry Lewis, so wanted the Alleged), and I haven't seen such a proper stamp for a long time. Big and proper old fashoined, loads of bone and knees the like of which you don't see very often.
Personally do not rate...
If I had the money this is the sort of mare I would buy for my stallion, Aeroplane.
He is a 16hh TB with stacks of bone and a great temperament. Graded with the SHB and first foals are this year but so far so good.
Aeroplane would be another to suit your mare, he is exactly 16hh and has nice movement coupled with a great temperament.
Remember the majority of stallions will breed up from themselves, mare dependant.
