Just an update on this. She had a polster sheet cut to shape stuck over the dressing - this is a kind of sticky back foam that sticks to hair and it worked really well to protect the stitches even if she did look a bit phantom of the opera. It lasted about 2-3 days of it kept dry - so I did buy...
My mare is coming home tomorrow after having a sinoscopy and sinus flush done. She’ll have sutures and a dressing.
I’ve been told she can go out if it’s dry. Honestly I think she’ll be less likely to rub it out than in the stable.
Anyone got any experience of this and/or ideas for keeping the...
Then why the claptrap about mitochondria and ATP production and not a single study on their “science” page? Usually there is at least one invitro study from a dodgy pay to publish journal with these guys. Google is a dreadful place to look for scientific papers but appreciate its tougher if you...
I’ve got 2 Arlo Go 2s, but they are more expensive than a lot of the alternatives on Amazon at £250 but I got them before they existed. One is 3 years old and going strong. I’ve got a gooseneck phone holder strapped to an electric fence pole so I can move it around outdoors.
The technical term is pseudoscientific claptrap. You could probably report them to trading standards but even if they got ruled against there’s no fine so they’d change their advertising slightly for a couple of weeks and then change it back. It’s sad though because it’s preying on people’s...
Sorry I missed your question. My mare was investigated including an arthroscopy, had box rest and then was rehabbed starting with walking in hand. I found a yard with good turnout and just walked her all winter before doing a bit more. It was 3 years ago now and she’s still sound. but she mostly...
I went with the hit air because it was much cooler, lighter and had better neck and lower back protection. I wanted one from another make built into a gilet at one point but it was far too hot and heavy so I didn’t bother.
My previous one did fail after 7 years of very regular use - the tube...
I feed Alfa A molasses free which is the same except it has alfalfa pellets, mint and fenugreek in it. My mare was a very fussy eater when I first had her and it was the only thing she would eat to get a balancer down her. I really like it.
At this time of year horses that struggle for...
I think sometimes people look for excuses not to spend the money.
I’ve seen it bring a new lease of life to several horses that were really struggling
I’d say if a horse is looking worse, look for another cause of that.
Because she’s always been fine without and it’s pretty dry out there at the moment (sandy soil) I’ve taken them off for now. But might reconsider if we get wild weather.
