I've been lurking here for a while, but couldn't resist posting on this one... A few years back we were at a local horse trials (I think it was Poplar Park) and saw a horse called "Walk on Water" dump it's rider... No prizes for guessing where! It still makes me chuckle now! :D

Another vote for Yvonne Lowther in Sicklinghall. I rode there for two years before moving back down south. They have miles of off road hacking and she has some fantastic horses. Might be a bit further than you hoped - but well worth it! :)
