Did not ask the vet as I did not want her to think I was complaining,but I just wondered, not a biggie, just curious.Things that have been checked over the years are heart rate, seen trotted up, asked about poos , thats about it,but not all in every visit.Really I just want the bute prescribed...
When a horse is on regular bute it has to be checked by a vet 6 monthly to be able to prescribe the bute. My horse is on bute ,but the checks vary by which vet does them and I was wondering what should be checked.
Just got a bit excited this evening when I found that I could get my horse to eat a tablespon of Pro Mineral in a marmite sandwich made with 1 slice of bread folded over. So 2 slices of bread would be enough to give him the full 25 mg.
My cob is not keen on pro mineral, he will eat it in 2 scoops of dengi good doer left in the stable overnight . He will eat advance complete ,which can be pelleted ,but it is so much more expensive and has a lot in it that he probably does not need. Wish there was a simple, palatable mineral...
How many of you do this? At the livery yard I am at it is common and I mostly have done it too. I mean with the bucket muzzle type the hole does seem very small. Does anyones horse manage to eat with the muzzle as you bought it?
Have we as yet discussed cob tail hair ,and how fast it grows and how difficult it is to cut even with a good pair of scissors. I think it is made of steel wool.Cobs are good at 2 things, eating and growing hair.
My cob weighs more now than in the summer although there is little grass in his field .He has no hard feed so it can only be the 15 lb of hay he has been having overnight. I have not found this other years when he has had up to 20 lb of hay overnight.I plan to cut his hay to 12 lb and replace...
