Nunney is well off my 'patch' so just looking for thoughts and opinions on the event as considering a trip over for my first CIC2*.
The XC course looks nice from the photos linked on the Shoestring Eventing website, although not sure what the jump into the second water is? A second table...
Does anyone know where I might find some XC course photographs of Hambleden CIC1* - tried Eventing Worldwide, Shoestring Eventing and the BE course photos Facebook page but no luck (unless I'm not looking properly after a long day at work!).
I guess I need 2011 pictures unless some were taken...
Thank you Thistle - (cheeky Cougar!).
Glad it's not just me who is a little confused quizzie!
jemima*askin - thank you for the link to the pdf, image 16 makes sense with the note that 'you may not pass behind an obstacle before you jump it'. I don't blame your poor Controller, much easier...
Just wondered if anyone could please explain the rule change regarding black flag alternatives. This was mentioned several times on the commentary at Isleham at the weekend (I think in relation to the Intermediate log on the bank, steps and skinny) but I have to confess I was only half...
I did Little Downham as my second Intermediate.
The first water was kind and although the second water is tougher it usually has the alternative of doing the Novice fence (log) in instead if you wish.
I'm another who would definitely encourage you to get an ex-racehorse.
I have a 15.3 hh gelding who was bred for the flat. He raced 3 times (once at 2 years and twice at 3 years) and was placed twice. He was gifted to me straight from the trainer at 3 years, a week or so after his last run...
I didn't realise how beautiful Pau is - so sounds like we should definitely be setting aside time to have a look round as well as going to the horse trials.
I really like it when big events have a smaller event feel, you can get so much closer to the action.
Thanks gracemoran - we will...
Hi Sarah_Jane,
I'm hoping to tag along with Jules19 to Pau too, so interesting to hear your positive feedback.
Bit worried I like the look of the CIC2* a bit too much and want to return with the trusty steed as Houghton Hall was expensive enough without international travel costs!!
I live in Newmarket (and also work in the Racing Industry).
From my experience the livery yards within very close distance of the town centre (so including some surrounding villages) tend to be DIY on farms with very little formal assistance offered (unless you set up an arrangement with...
Sorry to hear this S_J, you have had some rotten luck this year.
Stay positive - you have lots to look forward to when you can get back in the saddle with Sarnie and the hugely promising Pippa.
Your poor mum will soon be petrified to let you out of her sight!
Hope you will be back on...
Thank you very much for the suggestions.
I'm in Newmarket, Suffolk. Hadn't thought of Tina Ure but she's not too far away at Little Downham.
Also Fenning Farm is very close so will look up the Kenneth Clawson clinic dates. I did some clinics there last winter with Phoebe Buckley and...
