Hi
I’m looking into the different coaching pathways and it seems that there are a few different options and hoping someone can explain the difference or advise on the best route.
Is it best to do the BHS pathway or the UKCC pathway?
From what I’ve read, you have to follow either of these before...
Does anyone store their tack in their trailer?
I don’t really have anywhere in the house for my tack but my trailer is parked on the drive. It has a hitch lock, wheel clamp and is behind electric gates.
If I were to lock the jockey door and padlock the ramps do you think it would be secure...
Hi all, I'm expecting a little girl in 6 weeks time. My horse is on DIY livery and I have 2 girls part-loaning my mare so have had lots of help with the jobs during pregnancy. I'm hoping this will continue but there will inevitably be some days when I will need to muck out etc and I'm hoping to...
Have you had bone scan (scintigraphy)? My mare was suspected of wobblers and went to the local vets to have her neck xrayed. It was inconclusive so we ended up at Rossdales where she had x rays, ultrasound scands and a bone scan where they inject a radioactive agent to trace the bones. My mare...
Aigle, I've had mine over 10 years and still going strong! Expensive to buy up front (look in the sales though!) but well worth it as they last forever and will work out a lot cheaper than constantly replacing rubbish ones!
Mine wears them every single day and has done for the last 5+ years. I do use the fleece topped rubber ones though as found the plain rubber ones do rub. I'm not a fan of the neoprene ones for 24/7 as once they're wet they stay wet for a while! Much better that she rips a rubber boot from over...
Hi, out of interest how have you found mucking out up to this point? I'm currently 4 months pregnant and horse will be coming in at the end of October and we're on a DIY livery yard. I can pay for services if needed but worried about this extra cost when I'm on maternity pay so would like to try...
My horse is fully insured (Petplan) including third party. The policy states that third party and also personal accident cover covers myself and anyone riding the horse with my permission. Do I need to insist that a potential sharer/loaner has to have their own insurance if I have this cover in...
Hi I’m looking to loan out my horse soon which I’ve never done before so looking for some suggestions as to what to ask potential loaners. She’s not a novice ride so want to make sure I’m not wasting anyone’s time and also not wasting my own!
I’m glad it’s not just me paying a small fortune!
I did shop around a bit last year but a lot of the new insurers wanted a new 5 stage vetting so by the time you’ve added that cost in it wasn’t really working out any better. I’d probably end up with a load of exclusions as well...
That’s s
That’s a good idea. I too have only got it for the vet fee cover. I have a feeling I did try that one year and they wouldn’t let me drop it below the purchase price but I can always look at switching insurers.
Hi, my insurance is due for renewal soon and as usual it seems to be an awful lot. When I get comparison quotes they too seem to be an awful lot but it's got me to wondering does everyone pay silly amounts for insurance?
Mine is nearly £70 per month for £5k vet fee cover (£145 excess) for...
