Terribly terribly sad news, thoughts to all involved. Such a devastating end to a great week.

    Jack's Birmingham Adventure!!

Thank you for your kind comments, we really feel he optimises what a smart RC horse should be but also accept he is not your average show horse and for that reason he isn't to every judges taste. We had a ball though and Jack is just as happy today munching his head off in the field like all...

    Jack's Birmingham Adventure!!

Completely agree, the most unsettled horses made the top 5, but hey that's showing and it's down to personal preference. We were not surprised that jack was unplaced but I'm content in the knowledge he is truly an all round superstar for me and I could have stuck a 5yr old on him and sent him...

Almost certainly forever, I never truly thought I'd get to HOYS ever and Jack made it a reality! It was lovely to get a finalist rosette, it will take pride of place at home for some time to come!

    Jack's Birmingham Adventure!!

Thank you! We had such an amazing time, I also hadn't realised quite how emotional I'd feel watching the championships and displays in the main arena, watching horses at their absolute best bought a tear to my eye!

    Jack's Birmingham Adventure!!

Hehe yes he's a pretty versatile cow pony! He just keeps bringing home the goods no matter what we have a go at! Though I think we've probably reached the pinnacle now!

Well, no HOYS for us then.....

Thank you, would love to see them! Yes he did pull some faces, he's a bit of a comedian! I was a bit taken a back by some of the comments purely as we were all assured that under no circumstances would the commentary get "personal" but hey oh he is entitled to his opinion and Katie was very...

    Jack's Birmingham Adventure!!

Well what an experience HOYS has been, what a truly special time we have had, and despite no placing, Jack was a complete superstar and we meet some lovely lovely people including Pootleperkin who will no doubt wow the crowds next year once G is mended! I had never been before not even to...

Search for a Star - Vale View

Yes you're right, you won't have to do a show, the judge will ride. Best of luck, I had a great time at Bury Farm :)

Lets see some jumping cobs ....

Lovely cobs! Well Jack's a gypsy cob x gypsy trotter and loves his jumping. Been to Badminton Grassroots Champs twice and qualified for HOYS this year strutting his stuff as a show horse too! Truly fun pony :D

    Competing with no boots?

I don't boot my current horse up for anything, he is an extremely clean jumper and I have yet to find a pair of boots that don't slip down on him, so even XC he goes boot less and has done for 4 seasons of BE. Having said that he would wear boots XC if I found a pair that didn't move. SJing wise...

    Can I clip my boys?

I clip my eventer (I say eventer, he's a gypsy cob x gypsy trotter masquerading as an eventer!) all year round and in summer he has everything clipped off every 4-6 weeks. He is so much happier for it, doesn't sweat so much and dries off really quickly. :) It's only really an issue if you...

    Coloured showing advice needed!

For local showing you will be absolutely fine in neat competition kit. :) If you wanted to look more correct, then you would need to be in a navy hat, tweed jacket with shirt and tie, brown/canary gloves, beige/canary breeches and black boots. Rupert would need a brown plain cavesson bridle...

    Le Mieux numnahs for showing

hmm its difficult to tell, I originally bought the WH cut for my WH saddle but it looked very strange as the sheepskin ended up wrapping around the knee rolls of the saddle as it was too forward cut. The Show version is very straight cut though and fits my WH saddle fine but whether it would be...

    Le Mieux numnahs for showing

Showing people rave about courtlea but i just couldnt justify the cost. I have now bought 2 lemieux showing numnahs, one worker (for jump saddle) and one straight cut (for worker show saddle). I am really pleased with them, fantastic quality and saddle and numnah just don't move. The steward at...

The pony club novice Eveting test 2013 (help)

You would ride a 15m half circle which takes you to the 3/4 line the other side of the centre line (an arena is 20m wide). Then ride a straight line to your marker (in this case M). It is in effect a sort of tear drop shaped loop. :)
