    Do you wave thanks?

Always. If you don't be polite, they could treat riders with minimal respect from then on.

    summer turnout

We only put our horses out for an hour or two each day after they've ridden and only in good weather. We've got an old pony with laminitis so she has to wear a muzzle and the grass is quite luscious so only a few hours at the most for our's.

    At Last!!! (a little self-indulgent!)

I can't personally look at it because the internet doesn't seem to be working that well, but I'm sure it's great! What sort of things do you sell?

Fat or big riders... on small horses...

I know! I've seen a few large people competing on dainty ponies. It's not nice when they have a heavy seat because you can constantly hear them slamming in the seat. But I know there are quite a few talented larger riders; Which partially solves the problem.

    Injured Grand National jockey

Ouch! I know someone who broke their neck, still alive and all. Apparently it's very painful - he's certainly lucky! He didn't really break his neck though; he just needed three vertebraes re-aligning - Is vertebrae meant to have an 's' on the end? - not sure

RIP Daisy.... It's awful when something like that happens. Surely if it was a normal size ball it couldn't get down her throat?

Getting weight off a fattie. Advice please........

I would suggest muzzles aswell, they're really useful - some people struggle through sympathy... ... I'm not really full of ideas though, there is high-fi lite - that's quite good stuff!

Maybe you wear this body protector that streaches up your neck and it's solid but not stiff... ... maybe not!!! Was the horse ok??? I hope so - I send my condolences for the rider and her family and friends... Or... *flashing light* ... maybe they could make all the fences rubber (you'll...

    help with nerves- please!?

We have a pony that's a little buggar! He did half a test, but because he has amazing conformation and style, he won! He wasn't very old though... I used to have really bad problems with feelings when I was riding (my pony was very sensitive) As soon as I started to get upset, she could tell...

    Learning vices?

We have a pony that is the master at un-doing leadropes when she's tied up!!! She keeps a yanking on the knot, so we have to thread the rope through the loop (quick release knot)

Clipping near top of neck and ears...

I'm not really sure what you can do, but one person tried to clip a pony (he couldn't clip) and while doing it's face, he shaved all the eyelashes off one eye!!! Poor pony, probably humiliated - Imagine a horse with no eyelashes!!! I wonder whether he clipped the other eyelashes off...

Re: My horse fell ON me - update & thanks

That's great (that your horse wasn't hurt) It's a good age - We have an old pony reaching the age of 28! Not as long life expectancy due to lami. and cushings! Have you got a picture of him??? Hope you get better soon!!!

    Found ragwort in the hay

Are you sure it's not docks? Mine always leave dock stalks if they are in hay, and I always check every 'stalk' thoroughly to make certain is isn't ragwort. If it IS ragwort, the leaves will have been distributed throughout the hay and quite probably ingested by the horses. This is very...

Shoes on tight? Have had this happen and it wears off quickly - few hours. Nail prick will make them very sore rather than a bit short on the concrete.

Jump Leads / Battery Boosters for Lorries

Listen to OWLIE! It's very important to know if it's 12v or 24v and equally important which terminals you connect to. We have a 12/24v booster/charger thingy bought from Machine Mart and it cost about £100. Fit an isolator to stop any current being drained - my tacho sucked the life outta my...
