Reproofing stables with back pack sprayer?

Morning, Am very short, and stables need re doing with stablecoat woodstain stuff. On their website it mentions using a back pack sprayer to apply......has anyone tried this rather than using a brush? I'd have to spend a lot of time up a ladder to do it with a brush and sounds so easy just...

Field with oak trees - manageable or not?

I have a few and tend to leave those bits of field till had a few frosts or have raked them up. Lovely trees and great for shade. Also acorns fall straight down so easy to gather them up.

Does your horse have any endearing or odd habits?

One of mine woofles whenever I move the horsebox go in or out in the horsebox or a 3.5 ton delivery van arrives with our shopping. It's quite sad as I think she is expecting her mum to come out of it :(

Are there any EVA stable mats that don’t stretch, please?

The green equimats are good. They don't expand as much as pure EVA ones and they will cut them to fit before sending but make sure when measuring that you leave an expansion gap :)

My shetland would love a few mates that she could be queen of πŸ˜‚πŸ˜ ETA yes of course you should get a shetland OP. I'll get my pony to send it her complete works. Showjumping height measurements, cup or pole?

Am sure LEC is utterly delightful but yes, scary PC instructor springs to mind! Again might be totally wrong but newly qualified overly keen course builder wanting to get a rep for building 'up to height' and tricky courses, possibly a former eventer/SJ-er who has retrained to earn cash that...

Showjumping height measurements, cup or pole?

I wouldn't agree that is no difference between 50 and 60. A course at 50 max most horses can step over or jump like a raised trot pole. At 60 they most certainly need to jump it. Also this course was billed 50 max not 50 min. I got the impression the course builder, whose impressive credentials...

Showjumping height measurements, cup or pole?

All good points and totally get for affiliated and bigger classes but in this case the difference between 50 cms which let's face it a horse can walk over and 60 cms for a young horse and nervous rider is 20% and it wasnt one or two fences but every fence I think is very mean and quite frankly...

Showjumping height measurements, cup or pole?

Okay thanks all, I was expecting a couple to maybe be bigger but even so having all the fences at 60cms or above for a class started 50cms MAX even under BS rules does seem rather mean and not usual?
  23. ElleSkywalker

Showjumping height measurements, cup or pole?

So all fences will be 10cm higher than advertised or just one or two?
  24. ElleSkywalker

Showjumping height measurements, cup or pole?

I was expecting maybe one fence to be a bit bigger, so maybe 55 and was prepared for that, there were also 4 spreads and the spreads were def 60cms so that felt very mean too :( Thanks all, I feel a bit better now as was starting to think maybe it is from cups as they were so adamant it was 50...

Showjumping height measurements, cup or pole?

Went to a combined training event today, entred class billed max height 50cms. Walked course and thought these look huge. Measured said jumps with my new BS legal 60cm whip, fences just smaller than whip at top of pole. Spread on fences width of whip so 60cms, one fence over the whips length...

Does anyone wear a riding skirt?

πŸ˜‚ Don't worry I didn't take it that way 😊 If its velcro then I imagine it would be fairly safe then. They do look very smart and I like that they keep front of horse dry too :)

I love my equipmats, I have the thinner ones in most stables and the thick ones in the biggest stable incase I ever buy a beast of a horse and because it was my beloved old girls stable and she deserved extra comfys πŸ€—
