Looking to buy - CC on conformation please

I really just want a happy, reliable hacker. Maybe something I could do the odd jumping lesson on and perhaps try a local comp on. Also wanted it to be something my kids could ride if they wanted to in a couple of years.

Looking to buy - CC on conformation please

OK, so briefly it says she is a mare, 1.47m so about 14.3 hands. Then it has her blood lines. Ideal for hacking and show jumping. She has a good character and is very docile. Price negotiable. So really not that much information!!

Looking to buy - CC on conformation please

I am not too worried to be honest, as you are in England and the advert is not. Yes there are a few people on here who live in France (myself included). I Am not looking for a slagging off of the pony, as I am generally interested in going to see it. I am just interested to see if anyone can...

Looking to buy - CC on conformation please

I have emailed them to ask for me pics and videos if possible. She has already been reduced from 3000 euros which was the original asking price. I thought her back looked odd, but wasn't sure if it was just a bit lacking in muscle.

I'm so gutted... don't want to loose confidence jumping again!

All good advice, so thanks. I just hope I don't get too stressed when we jump next time by keeping this time in my head. Also not sure if I need to get a new hat now as the top panel seemed to come off where the vents are. My instructor was putting it back together while I was in a heap...

I'm so gutted... don't want to loose confidence jumping again!

Thanks, I just feel really stupid as it was not even very big the jump and we were only trotting. I just wasn't with him at all! I will carry on with the school pony (get on well with school pony as in my head I just think it will be so much easier than riding mine!!). Its a shame as my...

I'm so gutted... don't want to loose confidence jumping again!

My horse is known for being very strong and hot head when jumping. I have just decided to give up taking him into group lessons as have just had such a struggle with him over the last two years. So I now have a lovely girl (higher level than me) ride him during her jumping lessons. I rode a...

Does your yard offer group turnout?

Mine is personal preference. Some are together, some not. Can you not ask someone else on your yard if they are happy to put there horse with yours and then approach the YO with that suggestion?

    Warning bout rogue horse traders

This is awful, what sad stories! Weirdly I had put an advert in a local paper looking for a sharer. I got a reply from someone who wanted me to let them take my horse to live in another part of the country. It was just really weird! Why would I let someone do that, who I don't even know...

Anyone ridden in a western saddle?

Have any of you ridden in a western saddle? I am thinking of trying one for hacking, they look comfy and secure. So just wondered if anyone had tried one and if they felt more secure in the saddle when out and about? Thanks

Martingale or Market Harborough????? Jumping saga cont.......

I have been trying to find out the root cause, have had the usual checks done. Although he is just due for the dentist next month. Have gone back to basics with him of pole work and he is fine. We were progressing, but needed to get him more confident so he was less tense and panicky about...

Martingale or Market Harborough????? Jumping saga cont.......

Change of instructor has been suggested before, and i am in the process of looking for an independant instructor that can come to me (as no horse box). Anyway am in rural France so not the easiest task in fact. The reason I doubt instructor is because when I have suggested this to her over...

Martingale or Market Harborough????? Jumping saga cont.......

How very very annoying! Just when things seem to be getting slightly better it all goes terribly wrong again!!!!! I had a thread up the other day about relaxing my horse more when jumping and that he rushes. Well I didn't do my jumping lesson last week as we did dressage instead as my...

Tips for softening horse on approach to jump

I tend not to lean forwards when jumping, just going up with my body instead. I fell off too many times before!!!!!! My position is now quite stable, although occasionally loose a stirrup when he cat jumps! Interesting aobut the hands as my instructor is always making me have very short reins...

Tips for softening horse on approach to jump

I am trying to find an instructor, but am in rural France so hard to find one to come to me. Have not got a van so cannot travel. My current instructor is also the YO of my yard and the only instructor there. She is quite young (late 20's). She drives me mad as I have research this so...

Tips for softening horse on approach to jump

I have had lots of problems jumping my horse. Its has got slightly better as I have become more confident and better balanced. However, he is a great jumper thats for sure, but the only way I can describe it is he feels really tense coming up to the jump. I have been told to keep a tight...

Feeding question!!! people from France help also

Have been struggling with my horse over the last couple of years with his feed. During the winter when they up his hard feed he gets very over excited when being ridden. He has turnout all day every day, so this doesn't really change much from summer to winter. I have managed to get the yard...

    recommend a good girth please

Can you recommend me a good girth please? Not overly expensive, up to about £50. I have a Wintec saddle, and the girth I currently use is a nightmare to do up and undo. I am just unsure as to which to get, and whats the difference of the ones which are much wider under the stomach? Many...

YO upped my horses feed without telling me!

Lol, there would love some vicious phrases in French. OH doesn't know anything about horses so doesn't understand itime and attention they need. I guess a horse, 2 dogs and 2 kids puts OH pretty low on the pecking list!!! Think he gets jealous:)

YO upped my horses feed without telling me!

OMG are you joking!! Think that would be a bit drastic, I aim to please OH by not brining all my yard problems home but would rather not go that far over this!!! Think I will take some of the other suggestions first, but thanks for your input:cool:

YO upped my horses feed without telling me!

I would prefer a balancer, but anyway. He is def not underweight and does not loose weight easily. She is feeding a cereal based feed, 2 litres a day in two feeds which he maintains perfect weight with and then a little hay. She upped his hardfeed to 4 litres, he doesn;t need this I don't work...
