See, I'm finding it very hard to find accurate information on how the cloned genetics actually work in the horse. Some say this, some say that, some have issues and some don't, shortened telomeres seem to be behind cell aging, but then again they might not be after all...I know that cloned...

Certainly seems that way! I used own a fully greyed-out 14.2hh pony. One year we got people in for clipping and they said that they'd never clipped that much hair off any animal! :lol:

Never owned one with such a name myself, but a yard near me names the horse after the previous owner if it didn't come with a name and they're stuck for one! Then there's a few well, just because - the usual Paddy's, Danny's, Charlie's and Betsy's etc., plus Elvis, Barry, Humphrey, Malcolm...

That's an important point. Cloned horses go straight into breeding really and these two are no different, but what is the long-term survivability, soundness etc. of clones and their progeny? Do we even know? The risks far outweigh the benefits for me.

I think it's awful. Aside from my concerns about cloning itself (of which there are many), we're not exactly short on the Cruising bloodline. What about genetic diversity? Stallions must die to make room for up and coming sires, that's progression. I really feel that this is a step backwards...
