Reputable Dealers in the South? (and budget??)

That is a very good point - also the 'hassle' as well, when it could be easier to have this included in the price I pay someone else who does it professionally! I would love to give it a go one day, with more time and money allowing. I have seen the post, and I am undecided regarding it - dodgy...

Reputable Dealers in the South? (and budget??)

Chilver Farm look to have some very green horses which I would love to bring on but I am trying to be really strict with myself   That's interesting! I've heard of Sue at Duckhurst before but I've always shrugged and never looked into them as I know the 'Duckhurst' name has a...

Reputable Dealers in the South? (and budget??)

Interesting! I will give them a call in the future and see - I remember them having a very good rep and their horses flew off the shelves. How funny you also have a Clip Clop one! What a small world - and I agree. Sometimes I think about stopping the career and starting a little horse business...

Reputable Dealers in the South? (and budget??)

Around 9-10 years ago - they were all the people to go to! Interesting... thank you! Collating a little list of names to keep an eye on for later this summer when I might be in the market... We'll see how long I can put off actually viewing any o_O my OH reckons it'll be within the month....

*bump* any more? Please feel free to PM me as well if there are any to strictly avoid - I know of a few from back in the day but not up to date obviously! Does anyone know if Equine Agents or Martins Irish horses are still trading? I remember them having pretty good reps!

    lightweight stable rug with neck?

I hadn't seen those before! Do you have a link? That could be a lifesaver for me. I've always been intrigued by Snuggy Hoods as well.

    lightweight stable rug with neck?

Would a fullneck fleece be suitable? I have always had Weatherbeeta for these (and tbh most of my rugs until recently) and really rate them - keep my grey covered a treat when needed.

Reputable Dealers in the South? (and budget??)

I am toying with the idea of getting another and I am very out of touch with the horse market at the mo - I bought my boy nearly 10 years ago now and I am ashamed to say haven't looked at the market or any ads since (I used to love window shopping!). Current boy came from Emma Hinkley at Clip...

    East Sussex Livery

You might want to consider pushing off into the Kent borders where there are a few more - there are a few yards on that border near Goudhurst/Sissinghurst.

    Crazy itching

Can I ask what you are feeding? I know horses with sensitivities can sometimes itch like mad on some ingredients - alfalfa mentioned above is a common culprit

How to make horsey friends in a new city? (London)

This. Most of the yards in SE are desperately over-grazed, with very limited turnout - which I and my horse do not tolerate. A lot of the yards don't turnout if there's even been a light shower overnight. On top of this, a few of the yards aren't well run - management will cut corners...

I've never heard of Guy Lodge but I know about a few other names in the area, if you have any in mind?

How to make horsey friends in a new city? (London)

I would second the looking further out from Bexley and the likes! I know nearly every livery yard in the SE London / Kent borders and can't say I recommend many at all. Bexley in particular, and even the yards around Eynsford/Farnham area weren't great (in fact, one was terrible) - I would...
