It’s not really advised to use a trailer to run a transport business (I’ve been running a company for 8 years).
Its also a very saturated industry at the moment, too many cheap companies around doing stuff illegally.
About 2.5 weeks ago- she did check, she said he held lots of tension there-
so I had the dentist back out and they found an ulcer on the side the tension was on, he was rested and re checked, ulcer gone but he’s still doing it.
Thing is, he’s done this for months so I’m not convinced the...
hes in a NS eggbutt lozenge- though I don’t think he minds this I have got a happy mouth bomber which I was debating trying...
the Comfitec has loads of room around the ears (it’s abit big).. I could try and remove the comfitec noseband and as a trial before I buy a new one.
I seem to have a very sensitive horse- he yawns when I put the bridle on and yawns and rubs (Excessively)when I take it off-
im pretty sure both these things are a sign of tension/pressure and I want to relieve both.
No teeth/back/saddle issues, all checked.
Tried the micklem
I can’t have a hitching mirror put on my trailer as it’s On hire but I need something to help me line it up straight.
is there a removable mirror I can buy?
-or any alternative ideas? It’s for a 401 single trailer.
I do have access to an ARC equine, he’s been having it daily for the last two weeks.
he’s sound (and happy) the damage to the scar tissue is very minor but damaged nonetheless.
I was looking at PRP/IRAP/shock wave but these all seem to be for new ligament injuries not re-injured scar tissue.
A new horse I’ve had a few weeks was scanned today and found to have an old suspensory injury as a result of an old fractured splint bone.
The old injury healed but he has (recently) damaged some of the scar tissue fibres and is now on box rest.
Has anyone had this before and any treatments...
Definitely no mention of operating (at least nothing mentioned to me today).
just that it’s Re-fractured and to rest and Bute, we think he did it as he kicked the stable wall in a tantrum against the horse next door but can’t be 100% sure.
Vet was adamant there were signs of a previous...
My horse has somehow fractured his splint bone, it’s stable and vet wasn’t particularly worried.
he’s sound (unless you touch it) and quite happy but very sore on palpitation and the leg is nice and fat-
I was told to just box rest and Bute.. but not for how long or...
I notice that after he’s worked he itches his nose/face so I was wondering if he’s not entirely comfortable.
This is just my opinion.. I can’t say he goes any better in it than he does in a grackle etc.
I asked it on an 11/12yo horse and whether it was likely an 11yo would be passing X-rays- this one is younger, considerably, my concern is less about it passing but whether it’s worth doing full stop.
Thankyou for being so meticulous to remember though :-)
I’ve followed everyone’s advice and walked away from an over priced horse that my heart wanted but my head knew was too much.
- I’ve walked into finding another heart horse but head agrees this time.
My next issue- I’m having a 5 stage as she’s £6k and I need it for Insurance but I...
He’s not local unfortunately..
I don’t want to risk posting too much but there seems to be genuine reasons why hes not in much work so that side of things I’m not suspicious about.
I’ve had schooling videos around a course just no comp vids- not entirely sure he even went clear at the...
So.. I’ve found what I deem to be ‘my perfect horse’.. if I had ANY critism it would be that he’s a tad smaller than she advertised but that’s it.
He’s a Dutch warmblood, very light on his feet, flashy, well schooled.
Jumped around Unaff (no proof though) no competition history to...
I had a horse fly a vetting only to be retired 6 months later riddled with arthritis and kissing spine.
It’s why I want to at least make sure that doesn’t happen again.
I understand I can’t account for every issue but I’m trying to not be in the same position if I can help it.
I have a healthy budget for a new horse thanks to my amazing boyfriend but it has to pass a 5 stage with X-rays.
Obviously you would expect a 7yo to have more chance of this but the horses I like are 11/12 (all competition/alrounders).
I do have viewings on 7yo’s booked but they lack the...
I should add.. it’s not a purchase for myself.. a friend is looking for some opinions and I was replying on her behalf.
She was due to view it but it was sold before she had chance, it failed the vetting on sarcoids (apparently it had passed flexions etc) so the seller rang her and offered...
