The quest for perfect paddocks - using GrazeOn and PastorPro

Hi All I hope this is ok to post. Six month ago, I started working for Anglian Water as their Media Manager. Recently I've was approached by our farming and catchment teams who were looking to do a piece of work to raise awareness among the horsey community about the use of Clopyralid -...

    I hate my horses

Must be something in the air. One of mine barged past me at the gate tonight as I was bringing in and decided to go for a hoon around the farmyard not wanting to be caught! Normally a complete dobbin on the ground but has been a monster of late! Roll on Spring!

Any tips for tight muscles? (horse)

Thanks for your reply :) I've had a good read of the other thread (and lots of other things!- sleepless night for me!) I'm going to speak to my vet today, but was wondering about starting him on the reccomended supplements, as I don't think it will do any harm. As I mentioned before, he...

Any tips for tight muscles? (horse)

Sorry to highjack this thread everyone, but I've been doing some reading and this all sounds very familiar with my cob. I wonder if anyone can offer advice. He's suffered with arthritic hocks for the last 5 years, but I'm beginning to wonder if we've been using that as an excuse when...

Has anyones horse got EPSM or PSSM?

Sorry to highjack this thread everyone, but I've been doing some reading and this all sounds very familiar with my cob. I wonder if anyone can offer advice. He's suffered with arthritic hocks for the last 5 years, but I'm beginning to wonder if we've been using that as an excuse when...

    Sharp, Sensitive Cobs.

Me! I have my very own affectionately nicknamed 'turbocob' will out walk anything on the yard, trots so fast his legs are a blur and pulls like a train- even with arthritic hocks. He is also the sweetest pony I know, soft as grease to do and loves his kisses. I wouldn't swap him for the world :)

Your thoughts, experiences and advise please.

Don't worry- all is not lost! My boy was diagnosed with bilateral hock spavin 5 years ago. Injections no longer work for the same reason. While he's pretty stiff some days and has a slightly odd action, vet has told me to keep hacking, bute if necessary and tumeric works wonders. So much so...

    Anybody with a COPD pony?

You give a course of it for up to two weeks.... 10ml twice a day... Syringe into their mouths... Mine really liked the taste so it wasn't difficult... It smells lovely! :)

    FAO girlracer

Well isn't hindsight a wonderful thing? I hope if you have to make a decision for what you believe to be the right reasons, even if you are proved wrong in the long run, someone has the gall to throw it back at you and be so judgemental. If we all had the ability to see the future I'm sure...

    FAO girlracer

As someone who has known GR and Major for some time, I know that 'brushing it under the carpet' is the last thing she is doing. The fact is, Major is a lovely horse and is exactly as GR has described him in the advert. Jumping is not his thing, for whatever reason, but he loves his other work...

    What is going on here?

This. I saw the ad on fb but didn't watch the vid. I thought... I like the look of him. Obv not a pure Welsh... He's got something else in there. But I think without a plonker on his back, a good saddle and some tlc he could be nice...

    Pointless happy post

Just posting a pointless happy update! Finn moved yards again on Sunday. He is now at a new yard a minute from home. The yard we were at had lovely people but was 20 mins away so I jumped at the chance to have him so close to home. Even though we liked the old yard, Finn seemed depressed...

Hock spavin - crisis of confidence!

Thanks That is my next port of call, I am already a member of that group. I had finn on tumeric a couple of months ago, but could only get it down him once a day. We're moving to a new yard in 2 weeks which is one minute from my house (hurrah) so my plan is to get him back on it twice a day...

Hock spavin - crisis of confidence!

Hi everyone, As some of you my know, my horse Finn was diagnosed with hock spavin about 4 years ago. Up until this summer he has been in more or less regular work sometimes with the help of some bute. However I feel like I'm having a crisis of confidence that I'm doing the right thing...

Overweight pony.... Best plan of attack

This is true... It's so difficult. She's come from a troubled back ground and can't be stabled at the moment. We're working on it, she's happy to wander in and out of her stable, but not quite at the stage of being shut in. She also has huge separation issues with her field mate, who she won't...

Overweight pony.... Best plan of attack

Hi all Thanks for your replies. I agree about the grazing. I have suggested to her owner that we will weight tape her and if we don't start seeing an improvement in 2 weeks, we will muzzle. It's difficult with her not being mine. I don't want to upset her owner, so it is softly softly to...
