UKIP - are the party for repeal

Contemporary, more like Draconian! Not to mention that their figures do not stand up to scrutiny! Just like any other political party, they will promise the earth and deliver misery!

UKIP - are the party for repeal

Yes, in an entirely hitleresque way! A UKIP government would make me vote for Scottish independence!

    Claire Lomas, an inspiration

Unless you guys have all been in hibernation for the last fortnight I'm sure you've heard about Claire Lomas walking the London Marathon in her robotic suit. Claire was left paralysed from the chest down after a riding accident. There has been a Facebook page set up in her honour in an effort to...

    Poor Horse :(

Confusion would appear to reign! The horse in this advert is not called "Our Harry" but "Step on Eyre", stable name, Harry! Unfortunately, he was pts and the mand who placed the advert is the subject of a WHW investigation. :-(

    Treatment of mud fever/rain scald?!

Get the vet out for a look and get some Bute and Flamazine from them! If he's not too sore, or after he's had some bute, get the legs clean with some Hibiscrub, or similar, make sure you dry them well and then cover with Flamazine. You'll notice a difference very quickly!

    Keeping horse with Highland Cattle!

Thanks for the replies guys. They have had horses running with them before so are familiar with horses. I wouldn't worry about the TB, she'd be fine, it's the young, daft Irish lump that would want to "play" with them! I also have the exclusive use of a 5 acre "paddock" so may keep them there to...

    Slaughter horses

This forum never ceases to have me shaking my head! It boils down to the same thing all the time across all walks of life and not just horses, people are unable to take responsiblity for their own actions! Take ownership of the problem and we wouldn't be discussing this. Buying from bin end...

No, that's not specifically about exportation to slaughter, but about European transportation, not quite the same thing.

    Slaughter horses

Can you link directly to the section on the WHW that deals with exportation to slaughter? I could only find a brief mention in the section about UK Welfare Law, I may just be ,missing it, but then if I am, then so will others. Thanks.

    Slaughter horses

Buying horses is such a minefield, I know, I'm in the middle of doing exactly that right now. We are certainly seduced by the thought of a "cheap" horse with European breeding that is perceived to be "superior" and it isn't always just the nivice buyer who is duped sadly! It is also worth...

    Kent & Masters

You'd be correct there, it's the Thorowgood it's modelled on not the Wintec. I have one for my TB, it is supremely comfortable and also adjustable. Can't comment on whether to go for the jump or GP. Ask your saddler.

Thoe of you who have had portraits commissioned of your horse(s)

I have wanted to have a portrait of my mare done for years now. There are many artists out there charging a small amount of money if you want omething that vaguely resembles your horse, but if you're prepared to pay a little more then you can have something to hang on your wall for years to come...

Simple way to donate to Charity.

I have just text a £1 donation and just imagine the difference it would make if every single person who supported Equine Market Watch Sanctuaries (UK) used their mobiles to send £1 by texting EMWS11 £1 to 70070 - even if it was only the once. Come on folks, you spend more on a cup of coffee...
