    Weekend plans

I'm going to dressage at Vale View. Last time we went there we did the test in the right hand 15m of the arena as one side was too terrifying. Aim this time is to use 18m of the arena πŸ€£πŸ˜‚ He's going so well at home and so relaxed, we are just going out loads to experiance other things and try...

Dumb question alert - jumping with two reins

I hunt with two reins and like milliepops, just grab the lot and sort it as I go. Generally I find if their blood is up, they don't particularly care that I'm knitting πŸ˜‚

    Look who we met today......

If it helps, my greyhounds are not cat safe, but they are very much small terrier safe. I can leave them with dad's 4kg terrier and they won't move. Mainly because they are utterly terrified of the grumpy little sod.... πŸ™„

Do you ride in the rain?

To be fair, we did come in about 2 minutes later! It was only spotting when we started!

XC - do we NEED a running martingale? Want a Fairfax breastplate instead!

Me too. And his flat work, I like to have a grab strap as he's sharp

Do you ride in the rain?

Interesting mix of responses! To be fair to my boy and trainer, it was raining lightly when we started, gradually getting worse!

Do you ride in the rain?

Had a lesson last night, and the heavens absolutely opened. My angelic boy just tried his hardest to knuckle down and keep going. A reflection of the fact I try and ride in all weather. Video attached of the borderline biblical downpour

XC - do we NEED a running martingale? Want a Fairfax breastplate instead!

I have a Fairfax breastplate. I don't use a martingale at all. Never have used one, not sure I own one!

    Weekend Plans

Just when he's become less terrifying to ride, and I can actually enjoy him.... I'd also got him loads of new goodies for no longer being a hooligan.... He's got a VIP pad and a Fairfax breastplate πŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆ

    Pictures XC schooling

He's 14.3. They are a size small. My 14h has also worn them but she'd probably be better in an extra small. Fustratingly my leg is absolutely fine on my 14h and my 13.1h which makes me lean towards the saddle....

    Pictures XC schooling

Had a brilliant day out with my joy xc schooling. Started a little tense, but on a scale of Eddieness, it was relatively mild, chilled once he'd popped a few small fences. Noticed my lower leg is slipping back, not sure if this is me, him or the saddle. It's never done this on any other...

    Pictures Progress, not perfection....

Thank you! I haven't posted so much just lately. My work has been tough for a few weeks and just wasn't seeing things worth posting. Feeling a bit happier now and got some time off so will post a bit more

    Pictures Progress, not perfection....

I've periodically posted pictures of my boy, he's been a challenge at times but I love him very much. He has really struggled with the concept of stretching down, being one that naturally would like to put his ears up your nose....

    My poor babies have gastroenteritis

Thank you. Much brighter this evening. Met by two bouncy hounds at the door. Keen for their tea, now sleeping their food off, as greyhounds do! I'll take them to be weighed tomorrow. Lucky is a bit light at the best of times, I do just want to check where we are now.

    My poor babies have gastroenteritis

They seem to have more settled tummies this morning which is good. They've had a bland breakfast of gluten free pasta and fish. My husband has just left for work, dad is about to take them for a gentle wander then their babysitter arrives for the afternoon. They needed lots of snuggles last...

    My poor babies have gastroenteritis

I'm hoping that Lucky won't lose too much, she's the skinnier, and older of the two. Maggie is a touch overweight despite my best efforts! They are lying very quietly on the sofa, both wanting to touch me. I'll take them to bed later so I can hear them. Their babysitter is a vet student so...

    My poor babies have gastroenteritis

My greyhounds appear to have gastroenteritis. Very unsettled this morning with awful poos. Both have had accidents in the house because they just couldn't get outside quickly enough, and both are utterly mortified. Initially I thought one just had her periodic upset tummy that passes in an...

Professional dressage rider - no hat?!

Depends how bashed your head is. A trauma called patient would have all their clothes cut off, we'd quickly establish the lack of knickers! I don't get on a horse without hat or proper boots. I want to mitigate the risks as much as I can. I have the same rules for push bikes and...

    Saddle fit - to humans.

Almost word for word, me! Also hypermobile, long legs. I CAN ride in almost anything, but I am super fussy about what I choose to part money with for me. I prefer my jump saddles super flat with minimal blocks.
