Is there such a thing as Alfafa and Molasses and oil free?

I lied. FF has oil in it apparently :( sorry! J&C

Has the flexee gone live yet?

No :( They've had some sort of problem with shipping. I emailed my local fitter and she said I wouldn't be able to get one until the end of July  :( Back to the drawing board! J&C

More like a Cob than a TB...

I second what nmt said about the pure feeds. Ozz was on 4 scoops a day and looked awful. He's now on one scoop winergy condition (plus ad lib haylage, as always) and is actually fat! I'm moving him down to low energy  J&C

    Shod horses on roads

You should be fine! In fact, I'm yet to hear anyone say they do anything other than jar the limbs tbh. I've never had road studs in any of my shod horses and not had a problem :) Try to avoid slippery tarmac, but I suspect you'll know of any particularly nasty tarmac around you and avoid it...

    Kompeet/Equitop Myolplast/Cavalor Muscle Force - which one???

I know it's not one you've mentioned, but I noticed a massive change when feeding Equine America's More Muscle :) it's a hell of a lot cheaper, too :) J&C

To the person who told me the 'armpit' trick!

Hi Oberon :) I was thinking that I'd begin to (verrry slowly) lower the heels, to load the frog so they'd begin to strengthen further? I figured if I don't, they'll continue to stay as they are :p I won't be dumping the heels of course, it would be done very gradually so he stays comfortable...

This one is interesting. If you look about halfway down, you can see (I hope) a section of wall that almost looks like it’s not as well connected as the wall above and below it. I have no idea if this is just coincidence or not, but that would correspond with the time that I had to...

! Definitely not aimed at anyone! Sorry, it did sound like I was hinting, I wasn't! Promise! :o in fact, I was more referring to the fact that his feet were filthy in my set of pics :D Sorry, it really did sound awful in retrospect :o J&C PS your horse's feet are incredible! I did...

Glad you enjoyed :) like nmt, I'm loving looking through these! Some brilliantly strong, capable looking feet to aspire to :D Will definitely get more photos ASAP :D I'll even wash them off really well first because I'm nice like that :p J&C

Not perfect, but I think these pictures show the beginnings of good barefeet :) They are old pictures, so will try and take some up to date ones, but I like how they show a drastic change in the new horn being grown :D 5yo TB, I think you can all guess the event line that marks removal...

Following recent sales off verm x ( discuss)

I have used it, and was never made to feel like it'd kill parasites! The company told me to worm with a chemical wormer before using their product, and worm for tape worms as well as giving the stuff. I never had any problems with worms when I was giving it, but then, I wasn't trying to use it...

Am at at loss, very disheartened :0(

Can't quote on phone - but re white feet. I know, classic, isn't it? Have lost all respect for her now, which is a shame :( oh well, I'm in the middle of moving practices anyway J&C

Am at at loss, very disheartened :0(

I'll second shoes off :) haven't read trough all the replies I'm afraid, but re vet being against it - my vets tells me my horse must have shoes on because he has three white feet  sometimes your own homework is just as important, if not more, than listening to vets. They can't know it...

Feed experts- help cutting costs please

I'd go with purefeeds, super stuff! Cereal free and high in calories, but doesn't hot them up :) I feed it with fast fibre, and I'd swap the speedibeet for fibrebeet if you can get it. Fibre, fibre, a bit more fibre - best way to get weight on them. Fast fibre lasts forever and is dead...

Brave people post "good shoeing" pix please

You sound like a truly excellent farrier, I hope you can get the FRC to sort out their training system so we can trust farriers without having to check up on them :) I'd be happy to be trained up as a farrier by somebody this conscientious, same goes for AG, and I'm a bit of a barefoot hippy...

The best video to prove barefoot (I'm not a BF fanatic!)

Doh, just wrote out a reply and found I'd managed to log myself out  I think that's the point OTR, he's trying to demonstrate that even without shoes, the horse hasn't yet been trimmed properly, and is still peripherally loading, then he trims it to illustrate how it *should* be...

    Do you see a improvement..??

Much better! I agree, the poor soul looked scared of the bit in the first vid :( he's still ducking behind the bridle every so often, but he's far better, and will improve with increased impulsiveness and throughness :) he looks freeer behind now too :) Plenty of work getting him really...

Has anyone read - Ozzie, the story of a young horse?

Yes :) it was a lovely read, and a nice way of looking at training a young horse. I bought a 4yo called Ozzy not long after reading it! I hope to be as thorough with his training as Elaine was with her Oz :) J&C

    Fund Raising for Cairo Horses....

Bump! Come on people! What a poor display of support for such a worthy cause :( You guys can have 50 page discussions on draw reins and shoeing, but can't be arses to reply to this. J&C

    Pure feeds

I too, have found their customer service utter rubbish. Shame I like their product, I'm looking around for an alternative that's sold by a company with the power of speech (or typing, at least) Oh well. J&C
