I've just taken a lease out on 9 acres of grazing split into 6 fields but not one of them is secure no real fencing as such just crumbling hedges. So im going to secure a field at a time until its all fenced. It will be for 2 13.2hh,which at present are kept at 2 different yards so its going to...
really look into what lines breed the bigger ponies, i bought my nf at 6 months to make 14 hh plus. She is only just 13 hh but is very stocky so takes up your legs and would have no problem carrying 12 stone. They are really good ponies to have as allrounder, mine has one hell of a jump on her...
was she at the last year a long time? i moved my pony in june from where she was for 5 years and she totally changed. to the point she was dangerous to handle. ive now moved her back and she is totally fine again thankfully lol
yes your horse can catch it but as soon as you start treating it there is very little risk of that happening. We keep guinea pig that are really prone to it and my daughter has caught it off them a few times, as she is the main one to handle them. It is simple to treat with an cansten or the same
has he been gelded? is it a mare he is attached to? I have similar problem with a yearling a few years ago. I contacted a local stud and they had her to run with their youngstock and i had one of their old ponies with me. She is now 7 and still plays up if kept with only 1 or 2 for company, she...
stress was the trigger for our old pony, worming and travelling were enough of a change to set him off again. Sadly i had him pts in July as being on boxrest 24/7 was no quality of life for him especially with copd aswell.
Its natural for a youngster to chew stuff. Ive never know treat balls to make them paw the ground excessively. Surely a bit of noise and pawing is better than her getting so bored that she starts with a stable vice.
My daughter has the same jacket as it doesnt look bright on, she wears it with her native. I really like the pretty ponies one, i think it looks really smart. Have you looked at the pro photos of last year of the same class?
If browband and tie are blue, i would go for a green tweed with a blue over check. It might be worth looking on the photos from your local show for the class you will be doing, as then you will see what others use to give you ideas.
depends how much you feed per day if 10 kg will last 25 day, if 15kg will 16 days. As others have said she really need hay 24/7 due to ulcers, so its a case of trail and error until you figure how much she need. Hay doesnt go off, it can get dusty if not stored correctly.
