I wipe over with tack cleaner after every use and take apart to clean every few weeks. Can anyone recommend a good saddle soap/tack cleaner or conditioner that doesn't make the leather look dull - or rather actually makes it shine please?

Low sugar, low starch and fibre, fibre, fibre. As said above, grass and hay should be enough, but if he needs a feed, I'd give him a handful of Dengie molasses free chaff and/or fast fibre.

Absolutely agree with using a brush - hoovers just skim over the top of it!

I also feed micronised linseed but I also think Devils Claw Root is very good.

Marking my place here. I need a new one that can cope with fine white cat hair that sticks to absolutely everything.

I spray the dirty bits with Vanish and then wash at 40 degrees. I do this with jackets and leg wraps etc and everything comes out really clean.

My field is already trashed and yet more rain. We are on the second slippery field induced mishap but she can't stay in the entire winter :(
