    Best bedding

Wood pellets all the way. Have tried everything over the years and nothing beats the wood pellet. Have also tried all the leading brands, wouldn't touch Verdo with a barge pole, rubbish absorbency. White Horse Premium are by far and away the best. Lovely people to deal with and actually do...

    Professionals Choice Girth

I think I did use the online retailer you are referring to .... :-(

    Professionals Choice Girth

Yes the D ring to attach martingale, draw reins, etc etc. I had another look on line this morning and yes, the 'company' that for some reason decided to remove that piece of hardwear for 'safety reasons' is the online retailer I used. Why would someone want to remove it / sell the girths in...

    Professionals Choice Girth

After seeing one of these lovely girths I have just treated one of our horses to a professionals choice VenTech SMX English girth. Well, it has arrived missing the D ring attachement. I'm confused, am I missing something here? Friend has recently purchased also and hers has the D ring ! Much...

Horsebox Rescue - Horses on board being towed

Apologies as I'm sure this had mentioned a 100 times before. Just renewed insurance to include breakdown and my blood has ran cold after reading the small print. My lorry (if mechanically safe), will be towed with the horses on board. If I refuse this option roadside I have to make my own...

    Detachable Tow Bars

Do you keep the tow bar fixed on the car all the time, or take it off for any periods of time that you are not likely to need it?

    Detachable Tow Bars

Thanks to all who have replied. I still can't get my head around the word 'detachable'. I am just worried sick that the trailer will somehow become detached. I have had a quote to have it removed and a permanent one fitted at a cost of £300 from a Whitter agent. I'm confused. Some of you hate...

    Detachable Tow Bars

Your views on detachable tow bars please? Changing vehicle and the prospective new vehicle already has one fitted. I'm looking at a Mercedes ML. I'm not keen to say the least! Any feedback would be welcomed. Many thanks.

    Best clippers?

I had a pair of Listers 20+ years ago that were brilliant. Purchased a new pair of Lister Stars 2 years ago and it was the biggest mistake ever. After 2 clips the blades became red hot within minutes and smoke came out the back. Sent off to Lister who in their defence gave the clippers a full...

Having the Wool Pulled? - Muck Heap Disposal

These are just the answers I wanted, brilliant. But yes, were are these muck heaps finally being disposed of? An answer (on here I think), mentioned ploughing it through the fields? Wood pellet bedding is brilliant & I'd never, through choice, use anything else.

Having the Wool Pulled? - Muck Heap Disposal

Numptynoelle, If you can find that link sometime I'd appreciate it, thank you :-). I pretty cr*p at this responding stuff, how do I just reply to an individual comment? oh lol !

Having the Wool Pulled? - Muck Heap Disposal

Thanks you both, for answering so far. I should have made myself clear. While I know (and the other person), realises it's common practice to pay for muck heap removal, I'm shocked to hear that nobody (allegedily!), wants to spread their fields with horse manure that contains wood pellets ! I've...

Having the Wool Pulled? - Muck Heap Disposal

Views please on muck heap disposal please. Someone I know is having to pay to have their muck heap taken away. It's not been removed for at least 2 years to my knowledge, so up until now has just been gradually increasing in size. Apparently no-one wants 'it', as it is mainly made up of wood...

Anyone Having Trouble Getting Hold of Liverpool Wood Pellets?

    Best wood pellets.

Oh my life; that's expensive. I've just paid under £250 for a full pallet (65 x 15kg) with no surcharge for delivery to the west country.

Could Magnetic Boots Have Caused This?

I think we all know varying degrees of what is open, healing, scabbed, closed, scarred, etc. IMO I was only trying to promote the healing from inside out. It would be very helpful if people could answer my original question. Do you think the boots have caused the leg to open again by over...

Could Magnetic Boots Have Caused This?

Thanks wagtail. Maybe we've been a bit premature with the boots, even though the wound was bone dry and scabbing up nicely. Back in the drawer for the boots I think, I don't want any more nasty surprises first thing in the morning!

Could Magnetic Boots Have Caused This?

Thank you for taking the time to reply but if you read the post the wound was fully closed, hence why I have waited until now to put the boots on. I think the boots may have caused too much pressure build up resulting in the loss of the established scab. I shall leave the boots off for a while...

Could Magnetic Boots Have Caused This?

Long story so I'll give the brief version. Horse had a very deep puncture wound to outside of hock area just over 3 weeks ago. Very very slow to heal but certainly making good progress. Not lame (was for the first 48 hrs, but now fine). Only in the last few days are we seeing the wound...

    Best wood pellets.

Blue Ribbon Horse Bedding from Clifford Jones Timber are by far the best IMO. Have tried other brands including a 'very well known' brand and nothing compares to BR. I would never go back to any other form of bedding now, absolutely brilliant !!!

    ariat grasmeres

I've had mine several years and had new heels put on twice. They are lovely comfy boots and yes, they will sag/bag/drop around the ankles quite a bit. Hope you are pleased with yours :-)

    Feedmark benevit advance supplement?

I also feed Benevit Advance to my horses. No problems with palatability and they both look amazing all year round. Highly recommended. They are such lovely people to deal with aswell. Give them a call, I'm sure they will send you a free sample! :-)

    Open spaces!!!!!

Build it up really slowly so you keep your confidence. Just literally try half a dozen or so strides in canter, sit up tall, keep you bum in the saddle and try not to cling on to the reins! Relax and after a few strides come back to trot. Let us know how you get on :)

    Help! Weeds, Herbicide Help Needed!

I'll remain silent about certificates etc. My YO will not get contractors in to spray. We need to do it ourselves. What are you proposing to use, and what weed problem are you having? Yes, an annoying problem but interesting thread to read !!!

    Help! Weeds, Herbicide Help Needed!

Thanks to you all who have replied. I guess it's too late in the season to spray now anyway. We'll have to keep on topping for now and assess the situaiton at an earlier flowering stage next spring. :)

    Help! Weeds, Herbicide Help Needed!

I completed spraying two fields 6 acres a fortnight ago so just letting the horses back on to the grass today hooray ! What herbicide did you use?

Haha, that made me laugh too! Can Depitox and Headland Polo both be used in Knapsacks?
