    Sad! Just another Happy Hacker!!!!!

^^^^ You and me too. I have been looking for three years and will not settle for anything less than I expect. Bought one over a year ago, which only after four days and the first attempt to mount it reared up and went straight back over, crushing and nearly killing my daughter. Undisclosed...

Securing a horse sale is this normal???

^^^^Clearly we are singing from the same hymn sheet! I could not agree more. Home far more important than price, having said that we do not want to give our friends away for nothing because this could then lead to the new owner selling on for a profit and us loosing contact. But I would...

    appaloosas?

Some local shows will accept an Appaloosa in the coloured class, however my local area will not. One has to seek a higher level with a designated Appy class.

    Horses with unsuitable names!

I have a friend who has a horse named 'Prime', basically the name suited him as he was always primed to be naughty. My friends husband 'hated' the horse and jokingly kept saying he was going to turn him into Pasty Meat  However, whenever the husband turned up on the yard he always...

Would this put you off buying a horse?

I think it would depend on 'why' he fell. But if you are honest when people enquire, then buyers have an informed choice to come and view or not, so not wasting anyones time.

Would YOU pay £10,000 for a horse that weaves

Would YOU pay £10,000 for a horse that weaves

I recently read a post where someone purchased a horse which was advetised for 10K. She says 'it can be a bit quirky and weaves when stressed,' but well worth the money as he has been placed everytime out showing and bsja. Am I wrong in thinking No horse is born bad, just bad owners. If a...

How much will I need to buy this sort of horse?

Having looked for a horse with the same criteria for six months, imo the prices can very depending on what part of the country you look. I also think sellers price horses based on their knowledge of their own horse as during my search I found many identical breeds, age, sex and ability all at...

How to tick off a horsey neighbor...(long, but any help appreciated)

I remember that also. The outcome was...He had to pull it down on the grounds it did not comply with planning regs. If it had been visible for that length of time, he would have been safe. It was hiding it that was his downfall. Having said that, had it not hid it, it probably would not have...

How to tick off a horsey neighbor...(long, but any help appreciated)

This is how I see it. Someone has obviously reported your friend to the planning office, this could be a neighbour, country walkers or maybe someone your friend may have upset. Once the planning office receives a complaint, they are as other members have said, obliged to look into it...
