How long does Agnus Castus take to get into the system please

As per title really. Background...recently bought a lovely cob that had been gelded a week, had covered previously. We all decided it would be best to leave him where he was until he had fully healed, which he has and is now home. I have owned horses for over 40 years so I am fully aware of...

    Livery yard needed Cornwall please

I am looking for DIY or assisted DIY in Cornwall ideally the bridge side and anything down towards the rame peninsula. Doesn't necessarily have to be a "gold plated" yard but sand school, hacking, occasional evening help etc would be good. Struggling to find anything at all so if anyone knows of...

BSPA In Hand showing query please

Thank you for reply, we have tried that along with everything else and he is having none of it. In anything other than a snaffle or nylon bradoon he turns in towards you and runs like a banana. I have even trained him using a roller and side rein on just the one side but as soon as its removed...

    Clipping problem

Our small pony is perfect in every way until you turn on the clippers! She then turns into Achmed the dead terrorist! Dormosedan was simply brilliant. Put under the tongue and wait and we managed to clip her out completely. Hope this helps.

Advice needed please-Do I clip for showing?

Thank you only_me, he definitely has substantial bone!! I've had show cobs before that didn't have that much. He is a TBxDWB as well. I have only shown him in coloured classes up to now as last year was his first year showing but did take him into a show hunter class as a warm up once thinking...

Advice needed please-Do I clip for showing?

Many thanks for replies. Totally agree that clipping wont help the missing hair but it will make it easier to treat with an anti fungal shampoo. I think it is more to tidy him up and remove the cat hairs, fluffy legs and beard. I was more worried that it would spoil his summer coat but once...

Advice needed please-Do I clip for showing?

Hi I could really do with some advice regarding clipping and showing for this coming season. My coloured horse was clipped for normal riding last in December. Due to an injury he hasn't done a lot and has pretty much been roughed off, still in every night and washed and groomed but no "show"...

Showing classes with eggbar shoes ?

Hi my big show hunter had heartbars on for 6 months last year for navicular. When he was sound and showing he went to local level in his heartbars and no one ever commented. We were hoping to do a BSPA qualifier and it stated in the rules as it does for most affliated shows that no corrective...

    Dressage calling query?

I have tried this unfortunately. OH is a very accomplished horseman and has hunted most of his life. He stays on over most things but has no finesse regarding schooling or dressage. I am going with the hope that someone will call for me. I will try and post a result and photo on Sunday if I...

    Dressage calling query?

Fingers crossed then, I will find someone, thank you to everyone. Husband tried calling at home and we end up nearly divorced as he blames me for riding too quick or too slow and not keeping in time with him! Interesting concept though, waiting mid arena whilst he finds out where on the page he...

    Dressage calling query?

Thank you so much for your replies, I will see if I can find a kind person to call for me. Unfortunately Farma, I can learn the test but as AA said I struggle to recall it. Dressage calling query?

Hi I am about to attempt a dressage test next Sunday the first one for many years. I have a long term, life long illness that leaves me with cognitive issues and short term memory problems. My husband who is an accomplished horseman refuses point blank to call the test as quite frankly he is...

    hi lite elite saddle

I used one last year to back a pony. It fit her well, was lightweight and comfortable. As soon as she was backed, hacking out on her own and basic schooling, I had her fitted for her first English leather saddle. I think if it fits your pony well and is checked by an experienced person then the...
