Just to add, obviously it'll depend on schedules and all sorts of other stuff but are there any charities you could volunteer for that'll help get your horsey fix in? I know roles are really sought after but no harm in having a nosy if there's anything around you and you've got capacity.

I could justify it if there was other stuff going on, like Barbury was excellent and had working hunter, scurry driving, hunt relay and pony club showjumping on and even kept my non-horsey partner hooked throughout the day but for less than 3 hours and tickets at £35 I really don't think I can.

They'll make up their entry fees from riders on ticket sales if it's anything like the 4* a few months ago. Went with a friend and while it was a nice event I think we paid £30 a head which felt like quite a lot when compared to Barbury which was £10 or £12 and had a much more rounded schedule.

I think Lucinda is right it's the control round the corner and they don't have time to assess it properly (especially with the low head carriage so many seem to have), but it is quite airy underneath as well

I think even if you're not het up enough to "complain" per se it's worth submitting a form requesting that they hire someone with actual equestrian experience to commentate on an equestrian sport. I appreciate that it's not always an option or if Discovery think it isn't worth the investment...
