    Should I get the cat?

I'm about to do the same! Currently have one (very spoilt only child) cat and I'm about to introduce a rescue cat. The rescue cat is 19 and I felt so sorry for her I wanted to give her a home in her advanced years. My boy cat is very chilled out so i'm hoping he will accept her ok but to be...

An early "Next weekend" thread - a hot one!

I'm all good, just a sore thumb where I think I caught it in my reins. Had a little jump yesterday to check confidence was ok and we're all fine. A pic of the chubby handsome man before it all (with my anxious 'can I remember the course' face :D)..

An early "Next weekend" thread - a hot one!

Just dented pride mainly! It wasn't a great set up really, you can't tell from that angle but when you approached the double all you could see in the get away was that huge wing and pole fence line set up so although I didn't ride it well (I was trying to fit a one stride in as it was set on...

An early "Next weekend" thread - a hot one!

We had a little mishap out SJ this morning.. First time in over 20 years of riding that I've actually fallen off at a jump! But now I've got it over with hopefully my confidence issues may be gone (wishful thinking perhaps?!)

    Jubilee Bank Holiday Weekend Plans

Good luck J&S! Took Buzz to Eland today for some schooling and he was an absolute star, I'm just so pleased with him recently he jumped everything I asked of him - aside from one, will explain in a bit! - with enthusiasm and a little spring in his step, so different to the backwards little pony...

    Help with Eventing Dressage

I have exactly the same problem with Buzz so i'm here in solidarity! Eland is a big problem for him. It's the SJ going on the other side of the hedge, he can hear it and spot it through the gaps so he spends most of his time focusing on that instead... He's also nappy to other horses so he...

    Is Everyone Staying at Home

Lovely hack on Saturday, I'm very jealous of my friend's hacking, 3 hours with no roadwork! New bit also seems to be working, hooray! Just need to practice with some jumps now...

    Is Everyone Staying at Home

I did wonder if i'd missed the thread! Back from holiday to a ginormous Buzz who has been stuffing himself so he's on bootcamp, have another new bit to try out today but not holding out much hope anymore, will probably stick to the pelham if this one doesn't work. Tomorrow we're boxing up to a...

    Field Farm, Mumby?

I've been a few times (including driving up and back in the same day - not recommended 😅) and also planning a trip at some point this year with some of my friends, maybe I can try and coordinate?! The beach is great, buzz doesn't like the top half where its a bit deeper but closer to the sea...

    2nd weekend in May plans

New bit was a fail, back to the drawing board! Luckily I'd kept the tag on so it could be sent back 😅

    2nd weekend in May plans

I saw photos of the Chester zoo ride on Facebook, i'd love to do it so i'm very jealous! It's a little bit far from me though :D I'm off on holiday! Super excited, it's been ages. Buzz will be looked after by my fellow liveries and a friend is going to have a little play with him so he can...

Weekend plans 1st full weekend in May

I'm exhausted after this weekend, yesterday was so incredibly busy I was flat out handing out freebies! Even having to climb into the bin to grab the packets at the bottom 😅 Friday was a bit more civilised... Managed to catch a few dressage tests, a couple of horses on the xc at the lake (great...

Weekend plans 1st full weekend in May

I'm also at Badminton...but slightly less fun as i'm working on our company stand Friday afternoon and Saturday morning. I'll have a little bit of time to wander around though!

    Henry James bridles

I also found them on the slightly smaller size, I had to exchange my cob sized noseband for a full size. Everything else fits fine. I'd never thought my 14hh pony would need a full sized noseband!

    Bank Holiday Weekend Thread

Came 3rd in the hunter trial today out of 22 so I'm very pleased! Although the jumps were really quite small (or maybe I'm getting braver...) I'm glad I did the smaller class as he was eyeing some of them up suspiciously so it was easy to push him over them. Such a good boy, I'm so proud of him...

    Bank Holiday Weekend Thread

I'm at a hunter trial on Sun :) only doing the 60cm class as we've not cross country'd in the pelham yet so keeping it low so we can figure it out! It's also an Eland qualifier which is nice. It's a new place I haven't been to before so should be exciting. Going with his best friend (who is...

    Wildlife around the yard.

Ooo I forgot about the long-tailed tits! My favourite birds, I love spotting them in the hedges. Plenty of herons that like to fly out when you go past. Also saw a mink once...

    Wildlife around the yard.

We've got Buzzards (and my Buzz - his full name is Buzzard :D) kites, foxes, many rabbits, hares - one year we had a baby visiting the summer fields, he was super cute! Woodpeckers, a whole gang of Jackdaws including an amazing Leucistic one. Also seen snakes and a few deers too! I love the...

    Hedgerow foraging

Buzz loves Cleavers, i'm always picking some for him or he has a snack on the way down to the field. All their fields have hedges around some of the boundary so the horses can often be found picking at them.

    4th weekend in April plans?

Buzz was excellent in the clinic yesterday, so proud of him :) we ended up jumping a bigger course which was really great as I haven't jumped a 70 course for ages (I know it's tiny :D) but I felt so confident on him. There were two occasions where he really slowed down - I think he was...

    4th weekend in April plans?

Ah thank you, I can't afford to do both eland and the clinic though...next time! I'm not sure if it's policy there or not, I know it's like that for some of the xc's closer to me. Also i'd feel better if I had someone anyway, just in case!

    4th weekend in April plans?

Roxylola I just cancelled my xc Eland trip on Saturday as I couldn't find anyone to go with me and I don't think you can go on your own...I could have coordinated :D I booked an SJ clinic on Sunday instead so that should be fun :) Enjoy your weekends everyone

    Easter weekend plans?

Buzz was excellent at the little local show on Sunday, even though we nearly missed our WH class after being there for 2 hours doing nothing... quick get ready and warm up whilst the first two competitors jumped!! I hadn't realised the two classes before me were empty and it also...

    Easter weekend plans?

I'm going to a little local show (mainly as support for my friend as she likes doing them!) so will do a tiny 50cm SJ - that's his height class - and a little 65cm WH. Looking forward to some nice weather and playing ponies all weekend. Buzz has the vet today as his eye is playing up again, I...
