[ QUOTE ] Lol! Well it isn't right that you should be competing in junior classes so i wouldn't continue to do so even if you see others doing it. I was a junior associate and didn't jump in seniors-the BSJA automatically makes you that when your 14 so you can jump seniors if you wish [/...

    BSJA, what do you think?

Yesterday I was having some random thoughts about BSJA, and my ponies! And have come to the conclusion, you can't do very well in affilated juniors unless you have a 11-14h speed pony! When I was jumping ponies affilated I was doing very well and getting double clears etc... However I soon...

    What Do You Do.... (?)

Ive *touch wood* never had anything stolen and very regularly leave stuff out around the yard, by the gate, left her competing tack outside the tackroom one summernight *gasp*! Im insured for stolen items, but all my horses are freezemarked, and im lucky that at my yard everyone seems very genuine!

    Price of coloured horses :O

Yes!! And they look lovely in your siggie!! How is your new youngen coming along? Funny, you can go onto "colouredcontacts" and pick up coloured foals for around the 1k mark, break them and if your lucky to have a good tempered one they shoot up to 3-4k!!!! Defently some money to be made there...

    Price of coloured horses :O

I think I know roughly how much you paid JoElla and was so suprised when I saw the price. Coloured Cobs obviously = $$$big bucks!! You don't seem to see many coloureds at top level competing though do you?

When do you back your horses? Poll.

Always spring, or winter! I suppose it depends on your plans really, if you want to get out and about in the summer, the best time would be spring. Whereas if your going hunting it would be different. But mine have always been spring (When wanting to go out in the summer) Or winter, ready for...

To Clip or Not to Clip

I would give him a little bib clip! I am looking after a tb over the winter which im just slowly bringing back into work, and she sweats just after about 15 mins work! So she has a bib and a lives out! Its so much easier clipped.

    Vettings. How many

Always attend, you can get different interpuations of the report if you are not there. You only really have yourself to blame if you didnt ask the vet anything etc... I know some people have to work full time and can't fit it in as quick as they would like to but!

Ohhh this time of year again, when we are all trying to find feeds to put weight on are horses(Me incluced)! I had an old pony like this! Price of coloured horses :O

Just been browsing trough horsequest and horsemart, and am shocked about how much some people/breeders and dealers included are asking for coloured horses. I know horse prices are stupidly high at the moment, but you seem to add an extra 1k on a horse if its coloured!! And coloured cobs, well im...

    german or english hackamore....

[ QUOTE ] I preferred the german for competing in as it is easier to turn with, I had problems sjing in the english, which I never had in german. But for hacking etc if you can control him in headcollar i think english would be best option. [/ QUOTE ] I echo this, my 4 year old had a wolf...

    Training aids poll

I use running martingale, breastplate, Market Harborough, Pessoa and draw reins! Obviously not all at once! And only in the correct way, and for short lengeths of times. Always jump in a martingale and breastplate. From south east, yes we rely well to heavily on them for short term fixes. Some...

I have never ridden a wet horse, just because thats what i've been taught! And agree that a wet horse, rubbing etc.... but then endurance riders have to do this! I would personally never ride a wet horse! But it depends on your horse aswell, and wether its mud and wet etc..
