    Good quality leather headcollar?

I had a mare I needed to turn out in a head collar, she was chestnut and so thin skinned. I used the shires cushioned travel head collar - fairly sure I paid about £30'ish for it, link underneath (hope it works!)...

    Deosect users

Yes, my chestnut mare had an awful reaction to it. She came up in big swollen marks where the sponge had gone across her skin, it bubbled up and split which left open sores despite me bathing her to get it all off. The pain from it gave her colic, it was absolutely horrific and I would never...

Extra hifi so i can conserve hay?

If you avoid Rye grass mixes then haylege shouldn't cause you a problem. Timothy haylage is good for non heating.

    Red Rufus - Agrobs Distributor

This is exactly why I stopped ordering through RR, the communication was zero and that was a very long time before covid or Brexit! My local'ish feed shop stocks a very small selection of Agrobs, I get what I can there and mainly use Thunderbrooks instead.

    LPG horse shower: Recommendations?

Hippo are the best! Mine is probably my best horsey purchase. I echo what everyone else has said, make sure it is drained when the bad weather comes in otherwise the pipes freeze and break.

HELP !!! Frequent urinating, Anemia and colic.

SO stressful for you! When my lad had a gassy colicky episode he was trying to wee a lot and the vet explained that it was the distended caecum and right dorsal that was creating pressure on the bladder.

    Newton Stud slurry death

There are 3 sides to every story, your side, my side and the truth - in this case I suspect the truth will never be told. Very sad, I just can't imagine it.

What does a Tom Beech clinic involve?

My clinic was cancelled due to the snow and poor conditions for all travelling to it, rescheduled for 17th Feb so I will update then.

What does a Tom Beech clinic involve?

Weather permitting I am taking my rising 3yr old to see Tom tomorrow (b*gger off snow!!) There is absolutely nothing wrong with my homebred but he was gelded last year, I want to make sure there is no gelding scar, I also want to nip anything in the bud - he is a very big foal and plays hard...

Decision made - I’m selling up and going back to livery!

I can totally relate!! We have all been very poorly with covid and unfortunately my step dad passed away from covid pneumonia 3 weeks ago. It has always been my dream to have land, stables, horses at home. My horses are on DIY in the yard behind my house, so as good as at home but not at...

Horse dragging hind when ridden... what could this be?

A gut problem causing secondary issues with the back, causing PSD and SIJ inflammation caused mine to square out the hind feet, more so the right because of the gut problem.

Tow car- Toureg or Jeep Grand Cherokee

Touareg!! You do NOT need to upgrade the fan, certainly not fro the UK weather - if you were in Australia in 40 degree heat towing maximum capacity for long runs then yes, but we aren't and I am guessing you won't be doing that. I love my Touareg, it is my first tow car and I changed from an...

    One bedroom equestrian property

I always look at equestrian properties and think why have they got such whacking great houses attached to them - I clean my yard, not my house! A 1 bed flat would do me, smaller the better really.

Ifor Williams Trailers or rear facing trailer??

I am just in the process of buying the same trailer, my mare will not travel forward facing at all. I would discount IW entirely OP, the French trailers give a much nicer ride too!

    Peoples experience of youngstock herds?

The best thing you could do for a young horse , the sooner the better. They learn all their life lessons in a herd and are taught where their place is in the hierarchy.

    DDFT in the hoof

My mare was 19 when she tore her DDFT, misdiagnosed by the vet as laminitis (WTF???) she was a little tubby but that was it! I got the weight off her, did all the pads, packing special shoes etc - lame, lame, lame. Insisted on an MRI and hey presto, torn DDFT with scar tissue, the shoes were...

Pictures How big are your yearlings?

My yearling was 14.2hh when I measure him a few weeks ago, he has since grown but I'm yet to re measure. The vet saw him last week for his vaccinations and said 'Hey little fella' we had a discussion about his height and the vet was of the impression he was 2 and was a bit of a shorty! His...

    Liver Fluke!?

No help at all as the horse is in the best possible place. But, mine had suspected liver fluke, after a lot of tests and undiagnosed liver issues/pain, we saw lovely Donna Blinman and she got to the bottom of it - blocked bile ducts. Within 3 days the mare was a changed horse,
