    Dealing with a kicker

I also think that you’re making the right decision, for you and your horse. It’s a tough call, but you’re being very sensible and unselfish. Hugs.

No events to score this weekend, so I actually got OUT SJ & XC

I enjoyed watching that, what a lovely calm round, nice rhythm, and you looked so together.

Ok folks....the wait is over (hopefully..!!)

Really sorry about that SLH. As I’ve already said on a previous post, you can find what you’re looking for. My mare was less than half your budget, a bit of reschooling, and we did bs up to 1m, Be80, and hunger trials up to 1m. She was utterly bombproof out hacking, and a lovely person too.

    Happy hacker horses

I disagree, my mare was £1100 because she was a bit skinny. She was absolutely the best happy hacker, bombproof to everything she came across, lovely nature, and then also took me BS most weekends up to 1m, around BE80 very easily, and open Huntertrials (that’s her in my avatar), I took her...

Freejump stirrups - whats all the fuss about?

I got the Sprenger bow balance, my heel was down, my leg was in a better position, and as above poster, I could ride for more than 30 mins, efore I had them I used to get horribly painful knees.

are There any genuine people who loan out their horses these day

I had a lovely horse on permanent loan. He had won at Hickstead, but was 18 so was taking a step down. He took me happily round an BS 80open after I’d had him 3 days and we came 3rd. I had him for 6 months and jumped and got placed a lot, up to 1m, and did some arena evening with him. They...

Lack of good livery making me want to give up

If you’re travelling an hour to a yard, could you not find a diy yard nearby? I know you said you want full, but you could do most of your jobs in an hour?

    Acavallo arena safety stirrups

I have seen posts on Facebook where people have said they have snapped. I tried them, and did like them, but in the end I preferred the Sprenger bow balance, they are really good.

    First time XC with OTTB

I’ve come slightly late to this, so well done for doing so well. Just wanted to say, I don’t see anything wrong with taking him to see how he reacted to the show atmosphere, you needed to know he could cope with it. It was a quiet low pressure show, and it was obviously a good idea.

    Borde hill

I did my first 80 there a couple of years ago, I actually found the SJ to be quite forgiving it was built pretty small, and the course flowed nicely, so even though the area is hilly it’s fine. The Xc was generally pretty nice too, except for a few of what seemed like huge grey brick...

I want to compete. Mum doesn't care.

Agreed. I’m surprised at thhow way people have spoken to this child, did you never behave in the wrong way when you were 14? I don’t even think she is being a brat, yes she’s lucky, but lots of us want to go out competing with our horses, why shouldn’t she?

Who hacks on the roads these days and who's given up?

I don’t have a horse now, but where I was before, I had to hack on a very fast rd, after ending up cantering down the road being chased by a bus, and once a lorry I got too scared to ride on the road. It’s all too easy for drivers to behave like idiots and it only takes one bad...

Is it allowed under BE rules for riders...........

Me and my friend always used to have our jumping juice before BSJA classes, we found vodka was good. Only a little bit though, esp if you’re driving home.
