    Haslemere/Midhurst area Livery wanted

I seem to be looking for the impossible. Ideally I'm looking for DIY/assisted/part livery with AYTO, a well surfaced arena, access to decent hacking and parking for a small lorry. Anyone know of any hidden gems within 15-30 minutes of Fernhurst?

    horsebox sharing agreement

Does anyone have a sample agreement/contract for a horsebox share? We have discussed all the pros and cons and have the advantage of being sensible ladies of a certain age with similar values so pretty sure we can make it work, but would like a written agreement to save any possible disputes...

Lymphangitis - 3 horses showing symptoms at same time??

When I got my horse in yesterday (currently out 24/7 with 3 others) he had 3 filled legs. Looked like typical lymphanigitis so got vet out to him so I could get him straight on anti-biotics. Vet agreed and prescribed him anti-biotics and Danilon. No obvious wounds but nothing too extraordinary...

I don't post very often so quick synopsis- 14 year old TB gelding, not lame but not 'right' behind, lacking power and jump, not his normal obliging self. Initially found lots of pain/stiffness in SI treated by physio but no significant improvement. I suspected spavins in hocks but much...

Very un PC moan (awaits wrath of doting parents!)

I am one of the numerous people to miss out on Olympic tickets. I'm a huge eventing fan and spend many of my weekends helping at BE events etc etc so of course I was very disappointed not to have the opportunity to witness team GB going for Gold (go team GB!!) So am I the only one who finds it...

As title really, anyone know where has hay/haylage to sell at the moment (preferably that I won't need a mortgage for!) I'm only a one horse owner/yard so can't take hundreds of bales at a time (max storage for about 40-50 small bales of hay at a time) Any ideas welcome as I'm down to my last...

    SJ schoolmaster lessons Surrey/Hants/Sussex

My efforts to regain my jumping confidence are going well but its fair to say my own horse is not the most helpful in that he demands perfect riding from me or will stop! (I'm not a terrible rider & don't sock him in the mouth or anything dreadful, but the tiniest doubt in my mind about the...

    Instructional holiday recommendations

Whilst my boy is 'off games' I was thinking of taking the opportunity to brush up my riding skills which I hoped I could combine with a short break somewhere in the UK. I would classify myself as an 'intermediate' rider ie can sit quietly & competently in all paces & know the theory of jumping...

My lovely boy has fractured his splint bone & is confined to barracks for 3 weeks, when he'll be re x-rayed and a decision will be made whether to operate (chip fracture near top of off fore splint) Despite being a complete gem in all other ways he hates his daily routine being changed & not...

    just come home from Tweseldown...

just as we went over to the warm up we saw a horse prone just after fence 3. I didn't see it move at all so when I saw the tack being taken off I feared the worse. At that point I turned into a gibbering wreck & promptly withdrew my boy (which he was very cross about as he was enjoying prancing...

following yesterdays long ramble..the good news & not so good

Firstly thanks to those that read yesterdays epic post & even stayed awake to offer such encouraging replies. What a friendly bunch you are! The downside to my weekend was that I got a frantic phone call from a friend last night asking for a favour to take a very poorly pony to hospital in...

Quick bit of background, as I've lurked here for a while but never properly introduced myself (hello from rude lurker ) I've had horses since I could earn enough pocket money to contribute. Ok rider, but I have to work at it as it doesn't come naturally.Bit of a RC allrounder doing novice teams...

Just walked the Tweseldown BE100 course

My pony is doing the PN at tweseldown tomorrow & as he has an early time we've just been to walk the course. Big gulp, I'm obviously getting more feeble in my old age- it looked pretty tasty for a PN! Glad its the end of season & he's such a good xc horse (really hope I'm not tempting...

Following on from 'how many rugs' post

I'm probably showing my age now.. but does anyone else on here remember the 'good old days' when New Zealand rugs came in bright grren canvas with a blanket lining & stable rugs were made of jute, also with blanket linings (which you'd put on inside out if pony was still wet from being naked...

    Iping BE100- quick report

Haven't posted a report before, but as Prudence asked & for anyone else interested I'll try to keep it brief! (Horse has done PN before but few years ago, riders first time) Dressage, as usual worked in well but tensed in test & canter work always lets him down so predictable 40.5 to put...

Would you consider helping in exchange for riding nice horse?

I'm in a dilemma! Like many people I'm struggling with too few hours in the day for my lovely boy. I'm trying to way up the pro's & cons of trying to find someone who would be available on weekdays to do a few stable duties in exchange for rides. I don't require any financial input, just the...

Anyone know of any intensive jumping courses to improve confidence??

As title really...I'm based on Surrey/Hampshire borders & really want to get my jumping/competition confidence back. I've been to a few clinics lately, which I've really enjoyed but haven't got a regular instructor (due to change of area & clinics were from people who are too far for...
