Do any of you live in Queensland, Australia?

Hi everyone. I'm moving out to Brisbane in a couple of weeks & will be there for a year. I've put my horse over here on loan & he seems happy & his loan home is great but I'm wondering if I'll find anything to ride in or around Brisbane. Is there anyone on here who lives in Brisbane? Can...

Just because I've developed severe 'cabin fever'...

...I thought I'd offer myself up to all you lovely people & ask for some feedback/cc on my (slightly iffy) riding. Quick background: This time last year me & Chilli came 10th in the Novice & 3rd in the Elementary at the Aintree unaffiliated dressage championships in two fairly strong...

Chilli does Dressage (not too badly either)

I don't often do competition reports because a) I'm usually just there making up the numbers & trying to make Chilli go less racehorse, more dressage horse & b) I never have any pictures to post & I know you all like pictures & my reports would be fairly boring without. BUT this weekend Chilli...

A lot of little reports rolled into one BIG post...

Seeing as I rarely post reports but always wish I did, I thought I write you all a round up of mine & Chillis last few weeks. This could be long. Sorry!! We've been working very hard on our dressage & are feeling much more confident & relaxed now than we were three months ago & are regularly...

    Donkey does more dressage...

& is actually quite good at it. I've just written a whole report then managed to delete it 'cos I'm a complete computer numpty so here's the shortened version. Yesterday Me & Chili entered our first BD competition. Well, except the one test we atempted last year & scored a horrible 54% for...

Three dressage tests in eight days! (long-sorry)

I don't often post reports as I don't often have anything exciting/interesting to tell about but I'm really pleased with Chilli today & thought he deserved his own report. In the two years I've had Chilli I've mainly showjumped (not very sucessfully) but I've recently started having some...

Aintree BSJA Report - a long day & equally long report!

Took Chilli to Aintree today for their BSJA on the grass. I still get a bit aprehensive about jumping on grass as Chilli has the occasional 'ex-racer moment' where he forgets everything he's learnt about showjumping & thinks grass = gallop. Also we've been BSJAing a fair bit recently but...

I thought my horse was GREY...

...but when I arrived at the yard last night everyone claimed this brown thing was mine! and the other side (he doesn't do things by halves) I had to spend half an hour hosing him off then even longer getting him dry before I could ride. Stupid horse. For anyone who hasn't seen him...

Report from tonights jumping lesson with Joe Whitaker

I haven't done a report in here before but have just had a really good lesson so I thought I'd tell you guys about it. I've had my boy, Chilli, for about 18months now & we're jumping BN classes at BSJA. We struggle with a distinct lack of clears & I know a lot of it is down to my bad...

    MandyMoo

I've just tried responding to your PM & it says you're not accepting messages. I'm a bit useless with computers! Is your inbox full or is my computer broke?!

    Wish me luck...Trailer test booked

Well, I've just booked my training & test so hopefully I can get out competing under my own steam rather than relying on lifts. I'm quite nervous now so any hint/tips/pointers would be great.

Question for anyone with the latest H&H mag to hand

I've seen a hat I really want for competing in & have been searching for it for a few weeks with no luck. I have no idea what it is or who it's made by. In this weeks H&H Ryan Prater (pg 46) is wearing the hat I want. Has anyone got any idea what it is? Thanks

    Name this hat...

...can anybody help?! I saw a riding hat I liked at SCOPE but I don't know what it is or who it's made by & I've searched the internet but can't find it anywhere. It's a peaked hat that looks hard rather than velvet covered. I've seen a few people wearing one & they're mainly navy blue...

    BSJA Question (North West peeps?)

I've been jumping my new horsey BSJA on a ticket for the last few weeks. I'm going to register him but haven't yet as there was nothing on that I could get to for a couple of weeks but my friend has offered to take me with her on Sunday to South View. I'd be going to do the 1m class but it's a...

I'm crazy, I'm doing my first dressage test on my ex-racer tomorow...

...& it's the first time I've ridden a BD test. I think I'm throwing myself in at the deep end a bit. Luckily it's only Prelim. Had a quick run-thro tonight & it's actually quite a nice test. I really can't ride a straight line all the way down the centre of a long arena tho.

    Stubben bridles

Am looking at getting a Stubben bridle for my new horsey but am not sure what size I'll need. My horsey is a 16.1hh TB with a fairly small, fine head. I had a Sabre cob size on my old mare who had a similar size head but have heard that Stubbens are quite small sizes. Is this right? Thanks

    Weaving

Would you be put off a horse because it has possibly been seen to weave? How can I tell if it's a weaver? What ill effects can weaving have on a horse? Other than a anti-weaving grill on the door are there any other ways to stop weaving? Thanks.
