    Rambo Optimo Fly Sheet

Has anyone got one of these? I like the look of them and I am struggling to get a decent fly rug that isn't too tight on the shoulders! https://www.redpostequestrian.co.uk/horse-rugs/fly-sweet-itch-rugs/rambo-optimo-supreme-summer-sheet-fly-rug--navy-checknavywhite__193030

I may be worried over nothing but thought i would try and get some input from people that might be in the same position! Quick background - i am on a yard that i really like. Progressive Earth Vitamin E Confusion?

Sorry for another Vitamin E question but i am a bit confused with some info from PE regarding the difference between synthetic and natural Vit E. Now i know that if you feed synthetic then you have to double up the dose due to bioavailability but on their web site they say that there is 2000 UI...

    The Lameness Trainer Game..

I have seen this on another thread and thought it deserved it's own. What a great idea! Really good information on spotting lameness and the videos are really useful. The games can take a while ( between 30 to 45 mins ) but it's worth it. https://www.lamenesstrainer.com/

    Mud fever..... or not??

Each year my grey gets a bit scabby on his back heels. Our fields are not muddy but we do have good grass and he seems to get this from the wet grass. I usually put Heel to Hoof on for 3 or 4 days then rub off scabs easily with a towel and its gone but this time that doesn't seem to have...

    Weird little lumps on sheath..

So I put fly cream on the sheath everyday to stop the flies biting and today I have noticed these little lumps/spots. They look like little pink blood blisters almost, not scabby and don't seem to irritate the horse - any ideas? They also only seem to be on one side.

Horse Insurance £75 per year for vets fees - worth it?

I'm a member of the Harry Hall One Club and noticed that they are now doing vets feed for £75 a year. It only covers accidental injuries up to £1,500 and disposal on death. Does it sound worth it? Also what would they class as accidental - I'm presuming its something like a kick or wound. I...

    No silly prices please...

Why, when someone wants something do they feel it's right to put 'no silly prices please' ?? It really really annoys the hell out of me and its quite cheeky too. Examples below seen on FB just this morning: Looking for someone to pick my horse up and take us to the beach, will need to wait for...

Why do so many people own/ride horses they dont enjoy?

There have been alot of posts of late of people struggling with their horses to the point of where they dont want to or are scared to ride them. I have noticed that a fair few people are loaning/sharing and they are dealing with napping, bolting or tanking off and I cant think why anyone would...

    Weight wise...

How is he looking? Not in work hence the saggy belly and no topline. Hayed twice a day, no hard feed. I weigh taped him and he was 520kg, hes 16.1hh WB X. I feel he's a bit on the lighter side than I would usually have him but I know that as soon as we get new grass he will stack weight on as...

Buying a share in a Racehorse - Good idea?

Has anybody done this or is there anyone in the racing industry on here that may have some feedback? Rain!! Hurrah!!

As much as I love the sun we have been having I must admit I was rather please to wake up this morning to heavy rain. Our fields are brown, scorched and dusty. The horses are hot and fed up with flies, as am I! Would be happy with a day of this to get things growing a bit then back to warm...

Starting over rugging horses already..... 17° in the sun :-(

Just been down my yard to check my boys and every horse on the yard is turned out in a rug - some with full necks. Its a lovely sheltered yard in a valley which is a real sun trap and all the horses rugged are not clipped, not in work and all showing a bit of fluff. There is a Shetland in a...
