When Arabi was lame with thin soles he had strong pulses in front so vet thought it was laminitis I padded his feet and he was sound after 2 days on bute, we x rayed him was no sign of laminitis just very thin soles and probably bruised. Might be worth doing x rays if the tests are negative 🤔

I Don't think I would want a £25 saddle anywhere near my horses backs let alone my poor backside after trying to ride in it 😀

I'm loving it it's like living in Spain which I could easily do. I quite like getting up early riding all done by about 9am then I'm out in the garden in my pool 😀 I always have a good sun tan in summer as wehave a house in the canaries but this year my tan is insane.

I don't use them in extreme heat anyway as they sweat under them. I would hope that any horses near a field fire where moved away before there rugs could catch light but I suppose it is a possibility if no one got to them in time 😞

I don't think it hurts any horse to not be backed at 3 or 4 years old most are not physically or mentally ready for it what's the rush.

If you show in a Pelham it needs to be with 2 reins if your not used to riding with 2 and won't have time to get used to it stick with the snaffle. It might be worth having some lessons with someone to help you ride with 2 reins so you can use the Pelham in future 😉 It's a good idea to Google...

Use a bridle for lunging anything that has any sort of nylon in it can essentially cause friction burns and rub especially rope.

I don't think I have ever smacked her I did once tip her out of her bed and chase her out the door once years ago when she growled at me but that is about the worst I have ever done.

I use it a lot on things as it's one of the only things that one of mine is ok with his allergic to so much stuff but I suppose some horses react to different stuff.

My friend jumps all hers in a 20 x 40 and her big horse jumps 1.20 she just puts 3 jumps up and it's fine.

My horse rubbed an area where he had bites I washed it when I brought him in then when it was dry I sprayed it with silver spray everyday, it looked much better after a few days and the silver spray stops it getting infected by flies landing on the wound.

Flies are so bad here at the moment mine have masks but it's too hot for fly rugs and I find most fly sprays just don't work and one of mine is allergic to a lot of them, the only one I know his ok with is the Barrier H one I use the gel and tend to give them a wipe over when I ride.

You need a vet quite often ulcers are a secondary condition so your horse probably has other issues going on, best bet is to have a lack of performance work up and see what they find.

I think hers are getting some everyday after work at the moment it's like a bucket of soup 😀
