I've really struggled with wonkiness and would highly recommend working on it off horse - Pilates (with a physio who rides), yoga and physio have helped me (esp. a session on a mechanical horse with a physio who specialises in treating riders).

When I first moved to Devon I found the banks & narrow, steep lanes nerve wracking to say the least. A few years on I've got used to them. It helps that my horse is a saint to hack - we both keep an ear open for traffic (he usually hears it first) and we can squeeze through the narrowest space!

My seat is still very much a work in progress, however lots of lessons without stirrups have made a huge difference.
