Absolutely flabbagasted what can the government spend our money on next, it looks like a long time before any decent money gets spent on the NHS!

Is it time to stand up?

I think so.

How can the government allow this, when there a

mixture of faith at these Games. Instead of a Mega Mosque, there should

be an Interfaith Centre, where any religion can go and pray.

I'm sorry, but having read that i cannot see anywhere that it is taxpayers money being used to build it

I don't personally agree with being allowed to build any religious temple in any country that the faith is not indigenous to, but that is not the point here. Your post implies it is our money being used to build it. Have you read this somewhere else ?

The build for the olympics is being funded by the government (Tax Payers money), which is supposed to leave the UK with a legacy, as this is coming under the Olympic Development hat then it is the taxpayers money that is paying for it as far as I understand it. If I am incorrect on this fact then I apologise.

It does come across as anti-Muslim which it think is very unfair, it is the case of all tarred with the same brush which I feel is very unjust. I do believe however that if such a development is to be built then it should be a multi-cultural centre that promotes a mixture of faiths getting together under the same roof. I do believe that would actually make people accept other faiths and realise that they are all normal people just with different beliefs.

Why?
I cant stand that every religion except our own is treated with respect in England BUT will always respect the rights of people to follow the faith they see fit.

Cazza, I think a multi faith canter would have been a better idear(one which acomadates everyone) or (the more sensable option) arange for transport to local centers. Not as if we havw a shortage of places of worship in London.

Just my view i'm afraid......you wouldn't be allowed to build a church in a Muslim country, so why should you build a mosque in a Christian country ?

If i had my way, all places of religious worship of ANY denomination in ANY country would be outlawed....but that's a whole different discussion

I agree totally with Rambo on this one. I even agree with "If i had my way, all places of religious worship of ANY denomination in ANY country would be outlawed".

But then Im not religeous in any way whatsoever, but it really irritates me when people come to this country and expect us to build them their mosques or whatever with OUR money (if this is the case).

Do people want a multi-faith centre? Do Christians, Hindus and Muslims want to worship together? Do Catholics and Christian Scientists for that matter?

I think thats ridiculous. I don't really mind about the money aspect of it, but it does look like it would make one area completely Muslim - and I don't think that should be the case. I think diversity is a good thing, and huge communities of only one religion/race/culture are a breeding ground for prejudice and hostility to anyone different and I don't just mean Muslims.

In entire white Christian communities, even recently it was very hard for one person of a different race to feel accepted and at home - I do not think that should be encouraged.
