£50 for the shortest girth in history... and it's old/used/not as described.

just a quick grumble...

weeks ago (before raff's accident) i bought a jaguar dressage girth from eBay.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320507704167&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

i wanted a 50cm leather, shaped girth. and thought i'd bid on it as it sounded nice. i bid what i would have spent on a non-jaguar one, thinking that way, i wasn't spending any extra money (if that makes sense).

i think it quite clearly says 'new' in the title, and listing. and it mentions how it was bought for a friend who 'couldn't use it' so again, implies it's unused.

it came TODAY (yes, 4 weeks later...) and it is WELL USED. it is stretched, and is obviously used.

it has hair/old sweat in the stitched areas too.

now, i wouldn't mind in the slightest if it was used, listed as used, and i'd bid on it accordingly.

but i wouldn't have paid 40odd quid for it. i'd have paid more like 20.

i am SO annoyed.

end of rant

you can claim a refund through paypal. I bought something on ebay that was significantly different from the listing and received a full refund and kept the (useless) item - paypal said I didn't need to return it

I would report her to ebay item certainly not as described as the buyer makes a point several times in the text about it being new & unused!

Yep, that is blatant mis-selling if you ask me.

Email the seller, and ask them for a full refund for the girth and the postage and also tell them you will require compensation for your return postage.

If the seller starts to get difficult or ignores you, then Paypal will refund your money directly through the sellers account. If that has to happen the seller may lose their paypal account, so it's in the sellers interest to sort this out directly themsleves with you.

Good luck! I wouldn't have paid that for a stretched, well used girth either!

Girth in the photos looks new - does the one that arrived even resemble that?

Would definitely send it back and demand they pay your postage costs. Why do they bother selling something not as described? it will only be sent back.

looks lovely in the paicture i can understand why you would have bid on it.
contact seller give them a day to get back to you then go to ebay and paypal.
i have only had to do this once and seller did give a full refund + p&p so give seller a chance. but make sure you send it back recorded after they give refund. hope this doesnt put you of ebay as i have bought some lovely things.
good luck

Make sure you send it back recorded/registered so you can give the tracking number to paypal if there is a problem. If you don't, the seller may say they've not received it if you don't, and then they can wriggle out of a refund.

I too have had an ebay issue today, bought a spot light for the ceiling, has taken 2 weeks to get her and no bracket o attach it to the ceiling in anyway, have emailed seller... want the bracket or my money back!!

However on another occasion, I bought a pink numnah.... the seller then contacted me and said she'd washed it to send to me and it had gone purple from something else in the wash - she knocked £2 off (was only £7 to start) and i preferred the colour anyways lol

Hope you get this sorted out it does look and say NEW all over it, so clearly not as described.

no reply to my email... i felt really bad, but did make a point of saying i have never complained about anything before in my life (i have been given the wrong dish in the restaurant and said thank you and not mentioned it was completely the wrong dish... etc) but that i was really disappointed because it was SO blatently used. i wouldn't have minded if it had been tried on, but it is defo well used....

anyway, i'll give her until tomorrow to reply then i guess i'll have to report it to paypal. cos it's a ridiculous amount of money to spend at a time when 1) i don't even need the girth anymore as Raff is broken. and 2) i've got vet's bills/hay bills piling up and 3)i'm in a BAAAAD mood today.

and breathe.

I would just have a quick check in ebay that you can still report a dispute - I have a feeling you have up to 31 days after the auction ending to open one? Open one anyway - there is no harm in it, the seller has the ability to respond

Jesus I wouldn't pay that for any girth lol But how annoying for you, what did the seller say about it? I would be asking for a refund.

I would contact ebay as well as paypal. They were excellent with me recently when i bought a dress which was sold as 'in good condition' but was very damaged and pulled. The seller tried to ignore me, i emailed ebay, i got a refund. Plus ebay should know that this seller is listing falsely.

Same thing happened to me last week on ebay, except it was face cream, described as new, bought it on Buy It Now, paid for it and the next day the seller emailed me to say she had had difficulty in listing her items and it was opened and slightly used. I missed her email and it arrived the next day. When I complained initially, she simply referred me to her "no refunds" policy! I had to send her about 4 emails to get her to agree to refund me on return of the item, which has now been done.

I appreciate there were listing problems last week on ebay but what is it that some sellers don't understand about new and used being different?!

def watch out for the paypal time limits, I spent over £100 on jump poles, and chose (not realising) 28 day delivery cos it was a lot cheaper. No poles for me or lots of others, paypal said out of time, and credit card wont pay up because they say I was paying paypal not a seller so no direct lack of goods from paypal so no refund even tho over £100.

watch out for that one guys, it means the credit card cos get our of their 6 year liability for all ebay purchases using paypal.......think it should be stopped!

Well the rotten buggars, like everyone says, send it back, thats totally unfair describing at as new when its clearly been used...and not even cleaned!
