It’s only tiny, but does need a stitch, why on a Friday evening, why always out of hours!

Mr P has gone all out farmer on me, suggested steri-strips which I was half ok with as per photo it’s cleaned up well and is a neat cut. We don’t have any though… so he suggested I make some with duct tape 😂
* mental reminder, next time he’s injured throw a roll of duct tape his way!

Luckily for me one of my neighbours is a horse vet. She’s never ever here usually but I figured I’d give her a shout and she is on her way.

My only real worry is that he has to be muzzled and I think stitches are going to rub.
 
Silly pony! Unfortunately I don’t think you’ll be able to muzzle with that. But it should heal fast.
 
I don’t know exactly but it was my fault.
I had the dogs out on the yard while I was mucking out. Bubbles was the only one in, just loose. He’s used to the dogs and the dogs are used to him. But there is a corner in one stable everyone is a bit obsessed with and I think there was a disagreement over it. Dog came hurtling out followed by pony, the dog is fine and it’s not a bite but think he whacked or caught it on something in the process.
 
My pony had staples in a couple of weeks ago for a wound on his face that went down to the bone 🤷‍♀️ 😬 10 days later staples out and he's good as new. We didn't have to do anything to it whilst they were in either which was handy as he's a bit of a drama queen 🤣 I hope your pony heals quickly too xIMG-20240513-WA0002.jpg
 
For goodness sake what a week for you. That's your three so you're good now for a long while 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞

Can you insert some dead sheep into the muzzle in a couple of days?

We think he has either played a bit too roughly with his field mate, as they are renowned for, or that he has maybe clonked his head on the ring feeder or gate. He forgets he's older now and doesn't have the best eyesight or quick enough reflexes, but he is still loving the clumsy life 🙈x

My other horse got a nasty leg injury in his loan home we think from stamping at flies on a hay feeder so you never know?
 
Mine had ten staples in his face, we found his face bred with blood, it had already dried up by they but a big it of skin loose, when dropped the ramp to unload him after holiday....we think he did it when we shooed him back through the livinh door he had poked his nose into.
 
He seems ok this morning, I’ve put him out with no muzzle. There’s not much grass and I’ll get him back in early.

Ive really learnt my lesson from this. I’ve never allowed dog on the yard with horses (unless stable doors were shut )

Since having this old pony living here if mine are out the two little ones are in so the dogs were missing their running round the yard in the evening time. I stupidly thought they would be ok..
Mr P is really not impressed! 😳
