Was locking up at work and ready to make my way upstairs when the door sounded like it was being kicked of the hinges........cue my rotti having a hariated fit

I looked out of top window to see 4 coppers

I quickly gathere keys and made my way to the door, by this time regan is thinking "know one is getting through that door mam"

and she stood her ground in front of the door making herself look twice her size

I let them in as they wanted to check was ok as alarm system showed active

, so I said give me a sec to restrain the beast "it's ok" one said, so they took one look at her and formed an orderly cue behind one another with arms tucked in

They would not budge till, I stood near her which made her more suspicious and she gave a warning grumble " don't come near my mam"

I then I asked her to sit and stay and she placed herself between me and them whilst they checked the rooms, to which they said "she is lovely isn't she", but they still kept there distance and she never took her eye of them the whole time.

Rottis are simply the best body guards and best friend u can have

Would love to have seen that, good girl Regan.

Do the cops usually travel in 4's in your area or do you think they had heard about Regan and needed to come together for moral support.

Funny you say that, everytime they have been called out, they have actually come in 4's or more luckily it's not my area, I would not live there if I was paid

This reminded me of the fun we had with our late GSD ex police dog and brother-in-law police officer.

What i hadn't realised, is that most coppers who have been on a raid with the dog section have an extremely healthy respect for large breeds.

Toby, the GSD, was slung out of the police for being too soft, but was huge. 47kg and not overweight.

First time they met, brother in law watched his kids and wife cuddle Toby as though he was a great cuddly toy, but kept his distance. Toby took charge of things the next morning. Joined brother in law in bed, and went on the lick strategy until he got his cuddle.

My old dog scared the life out of a copper - he couldn't see him, could just hear him barking and didn't realise he was a big soft tail-wagging lab! He was checking back gardens but decided ours was probably toe-rag free when he heard Barney on the other side of the fence!

Although in fairness the copper was a bit spooked anyway because a rather scared cat had just shot over our garden fence and landed on said copper's head courtesy of Barney

So he decided not to look over our fence after all

Hehe good doglet.
Love a big well trained rottie!
As you said bodyguards and best friends

Hanandhen - thats what we think could happen with out big lab. He's a big boy and sounds like a rottie, such a deep bark. In fact the first time he barked he scared himself and went and hid in a bush!

Its lucky an intruder cant see the big waggy tail
