When i bought the ned 10 months ago he was a bit of a problem child, but after having the backman out and many months of working hard on both our flat work and jumping over the last 6 months he has been improving beyond all imagination.
Hes now turned into a lovely boy with fab jump and nice paces, so much so that i decided to break my dressage virginity and try my first ODE.
Got entered, took him sj two weeks ago where he won his first class and also came home with a 5th 6th in the same weekend.
Flatwork lessons going amazingly.
Then last wed night after being a cocky bug*er I attempted to jump one of the new sj gates that we've got at our yard....... big mistake!
I ended up out of the side door and in alot of pain.
To cut a long story short spent 3hours in A&E on Thursday having pelvis xrays and luckily escaped with just sprained syatic joint (or something sounding like that) in pelvis and very sore.
Magic pills later and attempted to work oss sat and he didnt feel right, sound but not himself, very tense, decided not to go to ODE, but ended up being persuaded to go and give it try.
Big mistake, should of gone with my instinct!
Very tense poor DR score (but with some very nice comments and not the worse in class), rushed sj round and didnt even get on xc course as horsey stropped......... i was right ....oss not himself and backman booked for thur.
Shouldnt of tried jumping that gate, shouldnt of gone yesterday now Im paying for it! lesson learned!
New mantra "Listen to what the horse is telling me!"
Fingers crossed physio fixes him Thursday and we can go back to our steady progress!!
Piece of Baternburg cake if you got this far!
